I felt the same way when I visited Europe - not just Rome, but Lisbon, Athens and Istanbul. Every other building pales in comparison.

Interesting. Maybe you are enthralled by what is unfamiliar. We were in Tahiti and had a cab ride from this French girl so thinking that you are in paradise i asked her where she like to go for her vacations. Well to my amazement she said Las Vegas!!

We shared a minivan from our hotel in Miami to the ship with a Dutch family who are used to seeing Amsterdam, old style Europe. So what were they enthralled by? The high rise skyline of Miami!!
