Carnival Breeze

This was my 26th cruise and my third time on the Breeze. I live 30 minutes away from the Port of Miami. I'm a teacher and this was my spring break vacation. It was also my nephew's 17th birthday. I have been taking him on all my cruises since he was 8 years old since we have the same vacation time.

I drove to the Port of Miami. We got there at 11:00. The previous cruise hadn't debarked yet, so the parking lot was full. They sent us to one that was further. The time that I had chosen to check in was 11:30. They allowed us to check in at that time, but we had to wait 30 minutes to go on the ship because Customs hadn't cleared the previous cruise.

As soon as we entered the ship, we checked out our cabin. We chose an inside since we don't spend a lot of time in the cabin. When my mother sails with us, we book a balcony since she loves it. She didn't join us on this cruise because she was having a lot of back pain.

After we checked out our cabin, we went to have lunch on lido. We had pasta at the Italian Restaurant. It was so delicious. My nephew had lunch there everyday. I would go with him, but would take my chicken burrito from the Blue Iguana Cantina and eat it there. We ate at the Italian Restaurant on 2 nights. The $15 fee is so worth it. We would have eaten there on two more nights, but it was full for those nights. We never made reservations. we would show up and be seated right away.

On the last night, there was a super long wait to enter the dining room. We waited for 45 minutes. On formal night we only had a 15 minute wait.

This is the first time that I didn't go watch any of the production shows because we went to watch the comedians, Karaoke, and the Thrill Theater instead. The comedians, The Thrill Theater, and karaoke were great! They added a lot of new movies at the thrill theater since we last sailed on her in August. Great features, but those seats move so much and hurt your back and neck.

I bought my nephew the social media package for his phone. It was a little slow, but he loved staying connected with his friends. I don't care to check my social media while cruising so I didn't purchase it for me.

My nephew was always at the arcade, and attended many of the parties scheduled in his age group. He thought that they were a lot of fun. The basketball court was always super crowded.

There were a lot of fun activities scheduled, and a lot of variety of foods. Everything we ate was delicious! We ate at the buffet, main dining room, Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana Cantina, Pizza pirate, Omelette station, Italian Restaurant, and the deli. My nephew loves the ice cream from the specialty coffee shop.

I wasn't impressed with the cruise director, Mike who everyone raved about. He was super loud, annoying, and tried too hard to be funny. One of the social hosts, Orlando should have been the cruise director instead.

In Jamaica, we booked an excursion at a resort. I do not recommend it. Save your money. I booked this excursion because we wanted to go to a resort and enjoy the beach and pool. They also advertised having kayaks and water toys. They didn't have any available, and we only had a small space to enjoy the beach because the other side was blocked off for others. The beach was super rocky and full of seaweed. There was a buffet advertised, but because of the small amount of people who booked this excursion(12 in total), they went around with a menu, and you could choose a hamburger or hot dog with fries. The hamburger tasted terrible.

In Grand Cayman, we just walked around since we have been there so many times and my nephew woke up late.

In Cozumel, we booked the wave runner excursion. I highly recommended. This was the third time that we have booked this excursion. The instructors are amazing and stay near you until you feel comfortable operating it.

Debarkation was a breeze. We were off the ship at 7:30 a.m. and home by 8:00.

I highly recommend sailing on the Breeze. It is a beautiful ship with so many activities scheduled and so much to do.
