This ship is older but still grand and so well taken care of. The staff was wonderful, in the dining room our head waiter and his assistant were the best. They had entertainment every evening in the dining room after every meal. We all enjoyed it very much. The cabin was clean our cabin steward took care of everything we ask for. The staff in the kids club were great with my 13yr old daughter she had a blast. We are going on a cruise again in Sept or Oct of 2006 and I can't find one that has an itinerary as great as the destiny does so unless I find one that will compare to it we'll be going on the Destiny again.
The ports St Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba were wonderful. I love Dominica the best of them all, so no commercializied and pretty and our tour guide Lester was so kind and so proud of his country that you couldn't help but fall in love with it. I'd been to St Thomas before and so it was still just as beautiful as ever, barbados was nice had a great time, and Aruba I want to go back to do the jeep/atv tour there and see more of the island and also go to carlos and charlies.
We did 3 days before the cruise in San Juan and stayed at the Milano Hotel, a great hotel close to shopping the forts and the cruise ship terminal.Clean rooms and they have free wireless internet in the cafe on the roof for all guest and they serve a pretty mean margarita and p colada too.
All in all out of 10 I'd give the ship a 9, the staff a 10, the itinerary a 10 and the hotel a 9.
