Carnival Dream,
We stayed in Cocoa Beach at the Double Tree Hotel the night before our cruise, The hotel offers cruise parking and a shuttle to the port for $20.00 what a deal the parking at the port would cost us $105.00 for the week, The shuttle drops you off at the ship and picks you up from the ship and we would like to mention two good restaurants for lunch or dinner, RUSTY'S for Sea Food & The MOUSE TRAP Steak House both a good value for the money.
The Embarkation, Ours went well being Platinum members. From what we saw the line was going pretty fast for Carnival
The ships layout is somewhat a disappointment for a big ship that was just built two years ago, Walking through the ship is not easy the hallways to you cabin is narrow you have to stop and give way to fellow passengers and when the crew is cleaning the cabins, well good luck.
The two pools on the ship are not big enough to accommodate 3,000 plus guests, plenty of lounge chairs so no hoarding was needed..
Speaking of hoarding , The elevators by the main dining room long wait in this area not enough elevators to handle the capacity
The food in the main dining rooms was excellent and the service from the staff was top notch The Matri'D Elvis & Hostess Erzsebet in the Scarlet Main Dining Room a great working team together both of them walk thru the dining room every night and greeted their guest, if you are going on the Dream in the next 6 months tell Elvis & Erzsebet HELLO FROM JOHN & JACKIE, Thanks
The Buffet Area, needs to be improved, for Breakfast & Lunch, Dinner OK, Breakfast & Lunch except long lines and confusion not well planned out, and the table arrangement need to be revised not enough room to get through with food in you hands the tables go in all types of directions. Your better off going to the dining rooms
Also in the Buffet Area, The staff are very slow in Cleaning up the tables and not so friendly, What I'm about to mention the staff did not do anything about this problem, Now this was a first for us and we hope this never happens again, READY.
While having Breakfast one day and Lunch another day, We saw PARENTS PUTTING THEIR YOUNG KIDS ON TOP OF THE BUFFET TABLES WHILE PEOPLE WERE EATING AND CHANGING THE KID SHITTY DIAPERS, NOT JUST ONE PARENT BUT 2 OR 3 OTHERS DID THE SAME . Now while this is being done the Staff look on and said nothing to the parents even the officer in charge of the buffet area did nothing, After was saw this we ate in the dining room for the rest of the cruise.
My question is, Are we seeing a new trend here on cruise ships, diaper changing where people eat their food We really hope not
We already see kids & teenagers out of control on cruises and this all comes down on Parents behavior and respect for other people, I have also noticed since I'm walking with the cane again, People have no respect for disability people especially in wheel chairs, just remember disability people don't want to be in their position either. Give way to these people
But overall the cruise was great and relaxing for us, Don't take my word on what I mentioned here, watch out and see for yourself.
Make your own happiness & cruise, it's just unfortunate a few ruin the memory for others
Thank You for reading & Happy Cruising.
John & Jackie
