We loved this cruise and met a lot of fellow cruisers who had previously sailed Carnival Freedom and keep returning. We now know why!
Everything was top-notch - from start to finish. Even the weather was incredible. Once we left Florida on Saturday, we never saw rain, clouds, etc for the entire vacation. The ocean was as smooth as glass and we never felt the ship rock or roll.
Our cabin steward (Tony) and his helper (Debbie) were the best we have ever encountered.
The food was delicious and any time dining was perfect for us. Carnival was able to accommodate my multiple food allergies and I had no problems or issues the entire week.
The itinerary (Grand Turks, Curacao, Dominican Republic and Aruba) was amazing and we can't wait to repeat our visit to these islands.
The casino on the ship didn't treat us very well except for the night that Jerry won the blackjack tournament. (He did play cards in Aruba and had a great time.)
We hardly spent any money and took no excursions. We used public transportation or walked everywhere. Truly got to see the islands from the locals' perspective.
The ship had to be redone as all of the glitz, glittery and glam were gone. It had a great feel about it and truly was in great shape.
Only a handful of teens/young kids on this sailing. Lots of families with small babies, though. That was surprising to both of us. Every age was represented on this ship.
Went to two of the shows in the main lounge and loved both of them. Only caught one comedian and were sorry to have missed the other three (perhaps next time)
No live music at the pool (DJ), but lots of live music in all of the lounges. We were told that the Freedom was one of 3 in the Carnival fleet that still had the full orchestra.
Marcy and James were unable to join us on this sailing but we told them that we would be willing to repeat the itinerary and definitely repeat the ship!
We loved being Platinum members. Easy on; easy off. We did opt for taking the luggage off the ship and boy was that easy. We were through customs in less than 5 minutes from the time we left the ship.
Now I have to start researching for our next cruise!
