HOLLAND AMERICA SCORES WITH US
ON EMBARKATION DAY, THIS WENT SO WELL CHECKING IN WAS A BREEZE FAST AND SIMPLE VERY LITTLE WAIT IN LINE, BEFORE WE KNEW IT WE WHERE BOARDING THE SHIP.
WHAT A SURPRISE WE HAD, OUR CABINS WHERE READY THE TIME 12.00 NOON, THIS WAS SOOOOO GOOD TO GET RID OF YOUR CARRY EON'S BEFORE GOING TO LUNCH
THE FOOD ON THE WESTERDAM WAS VERY GOOD, EVERYWHERE ON THE SHIP, ONLY ONE SPECIAL RESTAURANT (THE PINNACLE) $25.00 PP
OUR CABIN STEWARDS WHERE A GOOD WORKING TEAM, OUR CABIN WAS KEPT CLEAN AND WELL STOCKED, BUT HERE IS WHAT WE REALLY LIKED, YOU KNOW THOSE CLEANING CARTS THAT TAKE UP HALF THE HALLWAY WHILE CLEANING THE CABINS, HAL MADE THE CART OBSOLETE THEIR IS NOTHING BLOCKING THE HALLWAY, WHICH IS A DE-LITE FOR WALKING DOWN THE HALLWAY.
THIS WAS A SURPRISE ALSO, YOUR CABIN STEWARD PUTS YOU LUGGAGE IN THE CABIN INSTEAD OF LEAVING THE LUGGAGE OUT SIDE YOU CABIN DOOR
MY QUESTION WAS, IF HAL CAN DO ALL THIS WITH YOU CABINS & LUGGAGE, WHY CAN'T OTHER CRUISE LINES TO THE SAME?
WE SAILED TO HAL PRIVATE ISLAND HALF MOON CAY BAHAMA'S, VERY NICE ISLAND FOR A BEACH DAY, LOT'S TO DO OR JUST RELAX, THE BBQ FOR LUNCH WAS REALLY GOOD
THAN WE SAILED TO ARUBA, WHAT A NICE PLACE, VERY WINDY AND HOT.. WE DID A EXCURSION CALLED TOWN & COUNTRY, VERY GOOD 3 HOUR TOUR, AFTER OUR TOUR THE RAIN HIT AND MAN DID IT CAME DOWN THE DRAINAGE SYSTEM DOWNTOWN SHOPPING AREA ARE NOT GOOD, WE WALKED IN PUDDLES OF WATER UP TO OUR ANKLES, BUT WE HAD FUN GETTING SOAKING WET AND FINISH SHOPPING.
ARUBA IS A MUST TO DO AGAIN, SOON
ON TO CURACAO, NOW THIS WAS A VERY NICE SAIL IN, WE DOCKED RIGHT IN TOWN JUST PASS THE FLOATING BRIDGE, WALKING DISTANCE TO EVERYTHING, THE DECOR OF WILLEMSTAD IS JUST LIKE BEING IN EUROPE, WE TOOK LOTS OF PICTURES AND DID A LOT OF WALKING AROUND, THE WEATHER WAS PERFECT SUN WAS OUT AND WARM. WILL CRUISE HERE AGAIN
THE ENTERTAINMENT ON THE SHIP IS VERY GOOD THE PRODUCTION SHOWS, EVENING MUSIC TO DANCE TO AND THIS IS NOT DISCO, THE MUSIC AROUND THE 2 POOLS ARE KEPT DOWN AND NOT BLASTING YOU OFF THE SHIP, VERY NICE TO SIT AROUND THE POOLS AND RELAX, (FINALLY) AND A LOT OF QUIET AREAS TO SIT AND READ A BOOK OR PLAY CARDS.
WE ALSO LIKE THE CRUISE DIRECTOR, HE MADE JUST A FEW ANNOUNCEMENTS DURING THE DAY, HE WAS NOT LIKE OTHER CRUISE DIRECTORS FOR OTHER CRUISES IN THE PAST WHO LIKE TO HEAR THEMSELVES TALK DO YOU KNOW WHAT WE MEAN?
ON DISEMBARKATION DAY, THIS ALSO WENT VERY SMOOTH, FAST AND SIMPLE, WE DOCKED AT 0700 AND WE WHERE OFF THE SHIP 0830, AND ARE BAGS WHERE READY TO BE CLAIMED
WE HAVE 4 BOOKED CRUISE WITH HOLLAND AMERICA COMING UP, AND WE HOPE ALL WILL GO JUST AS SMOOTH
WE HAD A GREAT TIME & LOT OF NEW EXPERIENCE'S WITH HOLLAND AMERICA :excl:
