I have to say I was on the Pearl to Alaska a few weeks ago. There was very bad weather in the pacific when we left Ketchikan and the captain decided to take the inland all the way down. We arrived in Victoria at about 8:20 instead of 6:00 pm so the visit was cut considerably short, however, I must give Kudus to NCL for taking that route. conversation with passengers from other ships indicated that they also arrived in Victoria late, but they suffered with the weather in the Pacific with many passengers ill during the night and day of traveling. Thanks NCL. Whatever action they take with this propulsion, I am sure that the passenger safety is foremost.
In addition, the Pearl was lovely, the pools were well heated, even in Alaska, and Glacier Bay was outstanding. They have a Latitudes room, where just members go, with coffee and cookies all day. We met other passengers there and enjoyed some trivial pursuit together. I haven't been on the sun, but I can't say enough about the pearl.
We'll be sailing on her again january 25 to central America
