Liberty is a gorgeous ship. The outside areas are the nicest we 've seen. The walking decks are very wide and you can get some really good exercise walking outside, like we always do but on this ship the areas were extensive. The water park was amazing . The pool deck was divided into several areas, which kept some of the areas separate from where the kids were. The ship is similar to the Navigator class but larger with some added features. I was very curious about the FlowRider after seeing the tv commercials so that's the first thing we did. There were some very experienced riders and they were great but all the riders really enjoyed themselves, as did us watchers.
A huge disappointment was the show. We did see a very good comedian but the formal night show lacked glitz and glamour. The theme was fairy tales and I'm really over Snow White and Alice . The singers and dancers were good but , in no way, do any of the RC shows compare to those on Carnival, with the bling and the showgirls and all. So, although not surprised that the show was lacking , we didn't expect to see a theme like that.
Unfortunately, there were over 700 kids on the ship that weekend, very noisy, sitting on the floors of the elevators , but at least we were happy that none of them were ours.
The food at the buffet was good but not as much variety as on the Majesty or the Enchantment. There was a lot of fried chicken, fried fish, fried everything, which we try to stay away from . We do love the Windjammer, though, and eat all our meals there. The sandwiches at the Promenade Cafe were excellent, especially the shrimp salad with sliced egg. The key lime pie at the buffet was excellent also.
Wayne and I went on this cruise to enjoy a very relaxing weekend and we certainly accomplished this. We didn't have to be anyplace at any particular time. We did a lot of walking and Wayne enjoyed using the tremendous gym. We loved sitting in the Promenade Cafe on Main Street in the evening and saw the parade and the 80's disco show from there.
