Carnival Cruise Line has shared more details about its new cruise ship roller coaster.
At the IAAPA Expo earlier this week, Carnival president Christine Duffy unveiled the coaster vehicle with the help of chief fun officer Shaquille O'Neal.
Touted as the "first roller coaster at sea," Bolt will travel up to 40 mph. Riders will be able to choose their own speed. The all-electric, motorcycle-inspired coaster vehicles will be able to accommodate up to two people each.
Riders will travel along an 800-foot-long track with dips, drops and hairpin turns.
"Combining the most talented designers, technicians and attractions professionals in the industry, we've taken fun to a whole new level with this amazing onboard experience that is also a true game changer in our industry," Duffy said.
Carnival's Mardi Gras cruise ship will begin sailing in Europe in August before shifting to Port Canaveral in October for seven-day cruises to the Caribbean.
