Norwegian Cruise Line fans: Get ready to sail on the Norwegian Escape and the Norwegian Bliss.
The Miami-based company today announced that those would be the names of the two 4,200-passenger "Breakaway Plus" vessels it has ordered over the past year.
Under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the 163,000-ton ships will be about 10% larger than Norwegian's just-unveiled Norwegian Breakaway and soon-to-debut sister ship Norwegian Getaway.
The Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Bliss will debut in the fall of 2015 and spring of 2017, respectively, and incorporate many of the features that have been developed for Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Getaway.
Named by a USA TODAY reader in a contest held here at usatoday.com, the 4,028-passenger Norwegian Breakaway made its debut in late April. Sister ship Norwegian Getaway, also named by a USA TODAY reader, is scheduled to arrive in mid-January 2014. The two Breakaway Plus vessels were named in a contest held at facebook.com.
Norwegian Cruise Line currently has 12 ships in its fleet.
