    Panama Canal Photos

We just uploaded these to the Gallery/Photo Albums. Our 10 day Journey Cruise on the Carnival Fantasy Sept 17 to 27, 2018 included passage thru the canal into the lake for about 3 hours and then back thru.

  2. I ran across my photos from an autumn road trip up to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park in Maine back in 2015, and thought I'd share them here. If a Canada/New England cruise is in your future AND it includes Bar Harbor on the itinerary, then here is a sample of some of what you can see when in port for the day. Bar Harbor is a beautiful and quaint New England town, and Acadia Park has the most gorgeous views. Coming in mid-October - even better. The fall colors are never better! See the photos here:

  3. Not money but convenience...... Pack some wire (dry cleaner) coat hangers, as there are never enough in the closets. Bring a small night light or, most bathroom doors are not tight at the bottom so leave the light on and it works. If you have a stateroom with a card slot at the door to allow lights to be turned on, use a business card instead of the room key and just leave it in.

  4. For those bringing soda/pop or water onboard (where allowed) beware they do not put out ice buckets any more.... Ask your room steward and he/she will get you one and keep it filled. Carnival has ice tea, lemonade etc. in the lido buffet, so bring a refillable and get all you want. Royal has those in the Windjammer buffet but does not like you taking it out and they have the glasses poured already so you can't fill your refillable.

  5. I agree with all of the above - especially a bunch of dollar bills for tipping. Beverages? Not so much. I bring a refillable water bottle. Lugging all that soda is too cumbersome and a pain in the !#@&!!

  6. Oh yeah, we need to bring the mega bottle of Tums to handle all that food!?

  8. Yes...great idea...I have used that...good stuff. Both the Emergen-C and the Pepto.

  9. I’m with you on the Pepto, that stuff works wonders when needed. Whenever I travel I take the emergen-c powder for the week leading up to the trip, each day during the trip, and for a few days after. It really helps keep my immune system strong and has a great track record in doing so!

  10. Great advice, Jason...also a good idea to bring along some Pepto Bismol and a laxative. When away from home we often run into a few stomach issues...especially if traveling in Mexico or similar areas. We are often eating things we are not always used to. Vitamins are good also to help keep up our energy since we often are not sleeping enough and just keeping up with so much to see and do, with all the ports and all.

  11. I took Emergen-C, Airborne, and every other cold prevention under the sun this time to ward off germs. Didn't do any good. I was sneezing and hacking from day 3 all the way through the cruise. I hope they sterilized the cabin when we vacated it on Friday.?
