  1. Bon Voyage and Happy Anniversary, Rose and Howie!
  2. You are not only hooked now you are a bona fide member of CruiseCrazies! Welcome aboard!
  3. Our local river town also has a gambling boat. It used to be required to cruise the Ohio River. The big problem was Kentucky owns the river from the navigation channel to its shore. The boat would back down the Indiana side of the river a half mile or so and then back. If the boat was turned it would be in Kentucky waters and they threatened to board the ship and confiscate all the gaming equipment since KY is a horse racing state and did not want the competition. Now the "boat" is permanently moored as Indiana changed the law requiring gambling cruises.
  4. Our first cruise in '97 was also a delayed honeymoon. It worked out well. Great story, thanks!
  5. Your photos make us want to take another Alaska cruise.
  6. Denna, thanks for posting your revew! It sounds like you had a very good cruise.
  7. It must have been Barbour's Cut. The staging area was in a post frame building (better known as a pole barn). There was only enough seating for about half of the passengers. Although it was late December it was very hot inside when it became very overcrowded as the buses kept rolling in with more and more folks. With all the buses there they could hardly turn around. When boarding began for check-in on the ship they could only take a certain number at a time so they would not overload the gangway. Once you did finally get aboard you headed for the nearest bar instead of the buffet!
  8. We like the casino at the Hotel near the cruise terminal. We actually won money each time we were there!
  9. We've cruised from Galveston twice and Houston once. Galveston we liked, including staying at the Galvez, however Houston was a bust. Our cruise was moved there from NOLA after Katrina hit. The terminal was so small the actual check-in was on the ship--the NCL Sun. We finally cruised out of NOLA last September and it turned out very good. We stayed at the Holiday Inn near the Superdome, which included free parking for the duration of our cruise. Neither of us had been there since the mid 70s so we did head down to the French Quarter and partied a little and dined at Pat O'Brien's the night before our cruise. Disembarkation was not so good as the Saints were in town and it was game day. Traffic was so bad we just ended joining one of the many tailgate parties near our hotel until game time. Our next 3 cruises are out of NOLA as we can drive there in about 10 to 11 hours.
  10. We are a month a month behind you on the Conquest.
  11. Traditional late dining for us. We like meeting folks so a round table for 8 is good.
  12. Mach, welcome aboard the CruiseCrazies ship! Since you are already a Crazie Cruiser it should be a great fit.
  13. Ray, glad you had excellents and very goods on your quick cruise getaway.
  14. Congratulations Larry for your new cruise booking. Tampa is our favorite Florida cruise port.
  15. Olga, thanks for the review. It sounds like you had a very good cruise. The entertainment on ships anymore seems to be hit or miss with more miss than hit. There is no excuse for a custom agent to be rude. Some of them do act like they answer to no one.
  16. Debbie, you should be able to tell by viewing the deck plan. On some of our cruises we looked for obstructed view cabins to save a little money.
  17. Bon Voyage and have a great cruise!
