  1. Sprice001, Welcome to CruiseCrazies! Post often and let us hear from you.
  2. Keith & Rita, That sounds like a great solution. Go back to work and rest.
  3. JoeyandDavid, Why did I know you were going to say the beach? mercedes, You and I have very similar tastes. Spikesgirl, I wish I could snorkel. I would eat, but I'm always full from eating on the ship.
  4. I can't think of what would possess someone to go running toward and out of a cabin window. I've never been in a cabin where the window opened. I wonder if they mean a french door or a balcony door. That would make more sense. I would hope the oceanview windows were a lot stronger than that.
  5. When I go on a cruise, I tend to get up early and go to bed very late. I really lounge by the Lido Deck pool and when I go ashore I do a lot of walking, sometimes in the hot sun. The only rest I get may be on sea days if someone doesn't invite me to an early morning breakfast. Disembarkation is really a drag because one has to get up so early to vacate the cabin. Because of the way I cruise, I find that I'm exhausted by the end of the cruise and then have to deal with airport and luggage and security issues at the airport so I usually schedule an extra vacation day to rest from my vacation. Do you go right back to work after your cruise or do you need one day of rest?
  6. Some cruises visit a port every day while others have one or more sea days when there's not a mad dash to go on shore excursions. What's your favorite Sea Day activity in order of preference? Mine are: 1. Sleeping later 2. Late Breakfast 3. Exploring the Ship from top to bottom, bow to stern and finding secret places 4. Making friends with the crew to find most advantageous views of the port from the ship. (Believe it or not, there are some public spots on the ship that are not well known by the general public. They may be at the bow of the ship on an infrequently visited deck.) 5. Visiting the Casino 6. Attending the art auction to receive a free print of art 7. Participating in the silly games sponsored by the entertainment crew 8. Napping What about you.
  7. We have many Cruise Crazies now and although we're crazy about cruising there are a variety of different tastes. Let's make a list of the things we like to do while in port in the order of preference. By making this list newbies will have a chance to see the wide variety of interesting activities to be done while in port. I'll start with: 1. Taking a tour of the city or town sites 2. Checking out the main cathedrals or churches in a city or town 3. Having conversations with the locals 4. Visiting historical monuments or sites 5. Taking a ride on local public transportation 6. Take a taxi tour of the areas not seen by tourist (Not recommended for the general public or while traveling alone) 7. Looking for caps with the names of the port cities or countries embrossed on them 8. Shopping I know my port activities are corny by some standards but those are things that I find great personal pleasure in. It doesn't take much to please me on a cruise as long as the food is a little better than decent. Other Cruise Crazies may have some more exciting and adventurous activities that they can share with us. You first time cruisers pay close attention to what's in store for you in some of the ports.

  15. It looks like People Express Airlines was way before its time. Many years ago People Express Airlines use to collect airfares on board and charge for meals and beverages. One used to be able to travel from New York to Cinncinnati for only $29 one way.
  16. The Skipper, Enjoy your cave tubing adventure. I can't wait to hear all about it.
  17. waithe, Bon Voyage and have a great cruise. May you have smooth sailing.[/size]

  19. It's going to be a little more expensive for those passengers who like a change of clothes on cruises every day. I have a hard time getting my luggage down to 50 lbs. It's going to cost me a little more because I'll probably have to travel with more than one piece of luggage.
