I've only been on one cruise, but may favorite port of call was Aruba. I loved it that the ship docked only a few steps from the downtown area. (Believe it or not, I love to visit the cities and towns of the ports that I visit.) I also liked having the option of taking the local bus to the major beaches. The bus depot is only a 5 minute walk from the ship. Even the crew members seemed to leave the ship in droves to head for the beaches. I saw our assistant waitress headed for the beach via the local bus. Oranjastad is also very colorful with what looks like loads of terra cotta rooves all over the city. But when I think of it, any port of call is fine with me, as long as I'm on a ship.

Welcome back TVLady, I am green with envy that you got to take a sunny cruise at this time of year. I'll have to see how I can sneak in some winter cruises. I'm glad you had a nice time. You gave me some ideas about leaving from New York.

TVLady2, What an honor to hear about someone that was on a ship that I spotted. You're right. $399 sounds great for a ship sailing out of New York. I hope you had a great time and wonder if you'll be submitting any kind of review.
