You're absolutely right. Not all cruise insurance is equal. I lost thousands of dollars because a flight did not get me to the cruise destination on time. Someone at the cruiseline told me that I could board at the next destination of the ship if I got a letter from the airlines about the delay. I was not allowed to board in the next port and had do spend over a thousand dollars to get back home. The insurance company told me they would only reimburse for mechanical failure and only gave me back $137. I was depressed for months. So read the fine print and make sure you have the right insurance.
