  1. Thanks for the fun video, Danny...I'm definitely not walking the plank...LOL I usually go on a cruise to relax so I just enjoy things like bingo, thinking games by the pool, and the evening entertainment...so I would definitely come and hear you sing.
  2. Thanks for the article, and reminder, Jan. I usually do avoid the late summer/fall times to cruise. Good things to know... and ways to stay positive if we do go in hurricane season.
  3. Hi Joe...what a wonderful blog, and review of "The Norwegian Escape." It sounds like a wonderful ship. Love the pictures! I have only been on Norwegian once, and that was a few years back. I was on the older ship, "The Norway." I believe it used to be "The France." It was a very interesting ship. I really liked it. The entertainment was excellent, but we seemed to be on it at the wrong time. Some protesting with the help and all caused Norwegian to hire some new help. We did still really enjoy it. Would love to try the newer Norwegian ships, especially now after seeing your review. Thanks for the great post, great review, and great pictures! So glad that you, and family, had a great time...except for the Disembarkation.
  4. Wow!...Danny, that looks like it would be a blast...so much fun, and a short cruise that anyone could do. Didn't have time to see the whole video, but will come back soon. Thanks for the video and new blog post. One question about you...what type of music do you do? What is your favorite?
  5. Hope you have a great time...it all sounds so great. Is the Sun princess one of the ships they used on the TV show "The Love Boat"? I used to watch it all the time, but forgot the name of the ships they used. I believe they used two of the same look and make. Just answered my own question...looked it up. It was the Pacific and the Island Princess. Do you know if the Sun Princess is related in looks, and make, to those two ships?
  6. Sounds like this ship will be missed. Lots of wonderful places to travel to on a relaxing ship with great service. Sounds like some bargain sailing prices coming up to take advantage of. Hope the new ship is just as well liked. Haven't really heard of this ship or CMV before...interesting! Thanks for the article.
  7. Wow! Feel bad for mom and dad. but think that they should have given him some information on what not to do onboard. At least they got it down to $5000. Hope they can get it down more. We do have to keep an eye on our kiddos.
  8. Great news for the cruise industry, and for all of us who love to have cruising vacations. Is this bringing the costs down a bit? Hope so!
  9. Reneej1059...I just use plastic bags, the ziplock kind, for many different things, like, undies, and socks, and for dirty clothes, shoes, small sandwich bags for treats, etc. Don't use the packing bags or cubes, but have thought about trying them. Do you have any suggestions? And welcome to CruiseCrazies! Jan...I should try the rolling too.
  10. Hi cruznuts...thanks for coming back and telling us a little about you. You sure came to the right place to talk about cruising. Congratulations on your 28th cruise coming up! So wonderful! Are you going to the Caribbean for this coming cruise? Love the Caribbean, and love Hawaii. Your next one to Hawaii will be so great! I love Hawaii! Hope you come back and tell us all about it. We have a forum for reviews, and pictures here. Have fun...and if you have any questions about either cruise, we have lots of cruisers here and travel agents who can answer your questions. Bon Voyage!
  11. Good to know that Royal was doing a good job here. This young man was almost 18, too...would be hard to keep kids that age in the cabin...I did see some young kids on Carnival once running up and down the hallways at night, and also some very young girls riding the elevators up and down. I wondered where their parents were since they were very young girls and it was in the evening. There is so much "trafficking" children these days that I would sure not want to let mine go alone like that. I can see an 18-year old wanting to take some great evening pictures, but glad that Royal did the right thing that night. I'm not one to judge others but I do think that some parents think that it is great to go on vacation and all will be fun and safe. It isn't always that way, sadly. We took our youngest daughter on two cruises with us years back. On one cruise she was 15-years-old, and on formal night she was dressed up all pretty. We had two young college guys sitting at our dinner table with us, and they were sure giving her the eye...she is tall, and looked much older. I had to laugh at hubby, he made sure the guys heard him say how old she was. LOL He was definitely watching out for her...LOL
  12. So very sad that something like this happened , and to a young boy. I can't imagine why he was in the library at 2 AM. I didn't read all of the case info, but I do wonder where his parents were, but also why the ship had the curfews but they weren't endorsed, and security cameras and not watched. I imagine a lot of people were sleeping at that time and not watching, or following the rules. My number one thing to say is that parents need to keep a close watch on their children. Even I have a story about my first cruise, and I was 31 years old then. Cruises are mostly very safe, but, there is a lot going on that people aren't aware of, and they should always know where their children are at all times. I'm not saying that the Cruise Lines were innocent of this, but it has to be pretty hard to keep track of thousands of people; my child would never be alone at 2AM in the morning. I have suggested on here a few years back to young women cruising alone to always stay together, and watch how much you drink, and keep an eye on your drink at all times. My heart goes out to this young man.
  13. Definitely nice to have a table for two once in awhile, or anytime. I do remember some wonderful people we met, and dined with also. Still are friends with some of them. There is so much to cruising. My former SIL's husband once said he would be bored on a cruise. Marc and I just laughed...and said, "just wait for our Panama Canal cruise." They went with us and loved it...and they also came with us on the Hawaii cruise. So, I think he did not find it boring...LOL They both loved it, and we loved having them with us.
  14. Me too, Jan...the first time you flush the toilets it does scare you a bit...LOL Also, where is the WOW factor, and the I'm going to totally love this feeling for cruising. You do definitely have to get out to sea though. Also...the big boats are called ships...LOL Hope she gets a chance to go on a wonderful cruise to Hawaii or somewhere that she will really get the whole feeling of cruising. And the great feeling of "socializing" meeting some wonderful people that may actually be friends forever.
  15. Would love to go on Viking...for all those extras, and the smaller ship, and different travels. Have already heard good reviews for Viking. Hubby would miss the casino though, but he would love the smaller ship and extra attention... and good food..
