    Thanks! There will definitely be a review since I haven't sailed on HAL in a long time. And I'll try to provide some info on the ports as well. So looking forward to Venice for 3 days!

    Definitely pack less then I used to but always looking for a way to pack better. We have learned to use ships laundry as well particularly on long cruises. We will definitely be using the laundry on our cruise next month since we'll be gone 17 days.

    Sorry to hear the Vision wasn't up to par. RCI is starting to refurbish their older ships a few a year over the next few years. Glad you enjoyed despite the ship.

    The air for our Venice cruise cost as much as our balcony cabin for 12 days.

    In the Caribbean the itinerary is not important to us. In other places itinerary is #1 I agree Larry, Oasis class ships are way overpriced.

    I agree with all that was said about the port intensive itineraries. Europe is definitely work but at the same time a totally amazing experience. We are planning to go back to Europe in 2014 but we may opt for a different itinerary, but I never rule anything out! I'm looking forward to our Greece/Turkey experience next month.

    All cruise lines have a Port and Shopping talks for help with the basics. The Shore excursions videos should run on the tv in your cabin. I do suggest doing just a bit of research for each port prior to leaving so you have an idea if there are any must sees. You should also look at Carnival's website to get an idea of the cost of some of those excursions. Please feel free to ask away and we'll help anyway we can.

    Welcome aboard Funmoments. How exciting your first cruise! Make sure you check the ships paper the 1st day, that is usually when the 1st singles meeting happens. I'm sure you will meet many others aboard. Sorry can't help with Carnival but if you give us a list of ports we could make some suggestions for you.

    Jackie we were at Falmouth once when it was very new. There are shops at the port and some food. Also a small local market. I'm sure more has opened by now. See if you can go on RCI's website and find the Port Explorer. That would have more up to date info if they have one online
