  1. Congrats on the new booking. Did you know if you booked it aboard the Mariner you would have received a $100 shipboard credit? We try to book most of our's that way. The we turn it over to our agent and he discounts it. You'll love the Explorer and the itinerary. Not as fancy as the Mariner but still a lovely ship that holds many great memories for us.
  2. Curacao? I know that spot too...........but can't remember where for the life of me!
  3. Right there with ya. I've had enough of those mountains LOL! When I was a kids we used to vacation in upstate NY and I loved the site of the mountains. Guess that's why I also love Alaska. I'll take a mountain over another beach anyday.
  4. I've been to 3 different ones. I can take them or leave them. Half Moon Cay(we renewed our vows there) Labadee, Haiti and Cococay. Half Moon was lovely. Haven't been to cococay in many years but will go again since they made improvements and I'm curious. Labadee is probably my favorite and I always get off there. Guess it's the combo of the mountains and beach. I agree living in FL. we really don't need beach days as we get many but sometimes the islands are nice.
  5. Nice review chillhouse. Benjamin was our main cabin steward and he was great. If I knew you were in the same cabin I'd have left you a gift! Darn always wanted to do that. Did you do vintages? Loved all the crew in there. We had a great time every night.
  6. Yup chillhouse. It was a great cabin with a wonderful balcony. Would love to move up a deck also but they too have some obstructions. I'll take any of the aft ones.....can't beat the room!
  7. I miss that old traditions. Sorry to see some of them go.
  8. Pot holders and dish towels from Alaska. Love all of them and at least if I have to cook I can dream of cruising.........
  9. I used to jump around from agent to agent but I've used the same one many times now and I'm happy with the service. He really has little to do for us as we are well schooled in the art of cruising. LOL! We usually book our trips while on board also and the cruise line turns them over to our agent immediately. He's on-line but also has and 800 number and always returns our calls.
  10. We keep the sign and sail cards to put in my scrapbooks and I have copies of most of the tickets just in case RCI messes up my number of cruises for Crown and Anchor. They did it to me twice and I had to fax them the paperwork. Good thing I was a packrat too.
  11. The blue awning made me think of our stroll through St. Maarten. I guess I've been to the caribbean too much lately! LOL
  12. Don't know where yet but I'll be sailing at least twice.........god willing of course.
  13. Depends on the line and what they have to offer in late bookings. I've found in general Princess tends to be cheaper if you book later but RCI goes up in price.
  14. I'm sailing on a ship......how about you?
  15. Traditional all the way. Guess that's why I haven't sailed NCL. Would miss having the same waiter every night. I know you can arrange it but the hassle would annoy me....I'm on a cruise and not supposed to be doing anything! LOL
  16. Yup Keith and Rita your right! My DH and I renewed our wedding vows the day we went to Half Moon Cay. We were married 15 years.......now we'll be married 20. Boy time flies!
  17. We carry some cash, usually small bills for haggling and tipping. We carry mostly travelers checks as they are excepted pretty much anywhere and when we return home we keep them for the next trip. (If we have any left that is LOL) I hardly use a credit card out of the country as we had a bad experience with a store in Mexico that waited to bill us until there money was worth more. Of course that was years ago so I can't comment on today. You can always bring t checks and cash them in the casino or at guest relations. Make sure you have small bills for the vendors but the larger stores take t checks without a problem.
  18. are up! http://www.clubphoto.com/ type in the album search box........rmsails###### Enjoy all!
  19. Yes, the Mariner is the last of the Voyager class ships. Navigator, Mariner, Adventure, Explorer and Voyager make up the class.
