  1. I like to do independent tours as well in most ports. Hope you find the perfect excursions for your trip.
  2. I still prefer to give cash and will continue to do so for as long as we can.
  3. Nice pictures Keith and Rita. Nice to see Ellie and Frank as well.
  4. Welcome aboard cruisegal74. I sail RCI often so maybe I can be of some assistance. I have not sailed on Liberty but I have sailed on her sister Freedom several times.
  5. Thanks all looking forward to some down time.
  6. welcome aboard. Sorry can't help with that ship but I do sail Royal frequently so if you have any line specific questions I can help with those. First cruises are special.
  7. Welcome back. sounds like a great cruise.
  8. Welcome aboard Kish, look forward to your blog
  9. I meet someone who was cruising and land vacationing for 3 months from Australia on our Europe cruise. She explained that with the cost and the fly time they vacation once a year and they are retired so the time isn't an issue. They keep costs lower by staying in less expensive hotels, rent homes with kitchens so they cook and do there own wash, etc. Not how I would want to vacation but it works for them.
  10. I do watch the air prices all the time however and if I saw a good deal I'd grab it. Most of the time I book the airfare once I've made final payment on the cruise.
  11. Thanks, It's just a very inexpensive weekend, but any day at sea is always better then being home.
  12. It would depend on the ship. We have had aft cabins on Celebrity and RCI that are double the regular size balconies and had lounge chairs as well as regular tables and chairs. The only downside sometimes is the ash from the stack but we only had that problem once. It is also a long walk down the hall but in my opinion worth it for the extra outdoor space.
  13. A lot of the problem in Falmouth is many of the stores in the port are not run by Falmouth locals, they are run by people from other parts of Jamaica. When the locals agreed to the port they thought they would benefit, that doesn't seem to be the case. We have been to Falmouth twice. There isn't a whole lot there and most of the ships shore excursions run to Ocho Rios and Montego Bay. Outside of the cruise terminal is a shady area and not many passengers go past the gates unless they are on a ships tour or they are heading to the beach on their own.
