Welcome Home Rose....glad you and Howie had a great cruise. We look forward to hearing all about it.

We are currently booked on this cruise to take our former neighbors as a gift for their graduation (twin 18 year old girls). We sure would love to meet some other Cruise Crazies on this trip! Anyone going?????

We also cruise nearly every year for our Anniversary which happens to be in the middle of Hurricane season (September). The rates are cheaper and we find there are fewer children on board. (no flames please, we love kids but love "alone" time better.) We have only hit bad weather on 2 cruises and 2 out of 25 isn't bad.

The only line I know about from first hand experience is Royal Caribbean. We always book our next cruise while on board. You have the pay the full deposit - put onto a credit card, not your shipboard account and you receive onboard ship credits in amounts depending on the length of your cruise. As an example we booked a 9 day cruise for August 07 when we were on the Explorer this past May. We paid a $450 PP deposit (the usual deposit for a 9 day cruise) and received a $200 ship board credit towards our expenses on the ship. We can transfer the booking to a TA or keep it with RC and can also change the cruise we booked as long as we keep the same booking #. Hope this helps.

I have to repeat what the others have stated. Of all the programs we belong to RC wins hands down in the benefits department. We are diamond level and enjoy all the benefits and will receive the highest level status on Celebrity since they merged the programs. We especially enjoy the balcony discount and the Concierge Lounge has us a bit spoiled. They do make us feel very special when we cruise with them

Our preference is Royal Caribbean for many reasons. We enjoy the big differences in ship sizes from the small Empress of the Seas to the huge Voyager Class ships - something for everyone. We definately enjoy the perks of being Diamond members of the Crown & Anchor Society. As long as they keep treating us well and the food, service and entertainment keep us happy we will probably stick with them. A close second is Celebrity - just found there was a bit more to do on RC.
