Welcome to Cruise Crazies and the wonderful world of cruising. One word of warning - after your first cruise you will be hooked like all of us and looking to book cruise #2. I think the most important thing is to decide how active a cruise you want and what ports you really want to see. The web has tons and tons of information to help you decide and you have a lot of friends here to help with information. Once you decide on a cruise line, set a realistic budget and begin to plan. The most important thing is to find a reliable TA and let them make suggestions to get you through the planning stages but don't let them talk you into anything you don't want. Another important thing is the buy Insurance to cover your trip. Hopefully you will never need it and it will be a waste of your money, but should you need it for any reason it will be invaluable. Enjoy planning your first cruise and as questions come up - ask away. We are here to help.

Congratulations on getting your docs. Time to start packing!!

We usually pack a special bottle of wine to take with us. I wrap it well in bubble wrap, put it into a large zip lock bag (just in case) and put it in the middle of the clothes in our checked bag. I have never had a problem doing this.

If someone wants to give me a ticket I really don't care where my cabin is!! However I must admit we are quite partial to the aft balconies. They are so much larger than the side ones and given a preference that is what we always book. Since we usually book quite far out we normally have no problem getting those cabins and have them for our next 2 cruises.

Donna - So glad you got all of your problems worked out. Now go on your cruise, relax and enjoy.

Welcome Julie & Randall - Congratulations on both your 25th Anniversary and your very first cruise. You will find us a happy friendly group who between us can probably answer just about any question you might have about cruising. I enjoy the planning almost as much as the actual cruise. We will be leaving 2 days after you on the Explorer so I know what the wait it like. However by visiting here and joining in hopefully the time will fly by.

Congratulations. Making that final payment makes the trip seem so much more real. Now it's time for packing lists.

We used the Fuji disposable underwater camera when we were in the Cayman Islands. We were very happy with the photos and would not hesitate to use them again. I believe we paid about $7 for it.
