That is crazy. I wonder how it would work if I took my (minor) grandchild on a cruise and it was just the 2 of us in the cabin?

I have to agree with Eph60. While I am thrilled that Cape Liberty will finally get a new ship - to me this is not a ship it is an amusement park. I guess I am longing for the older days of cruising without all the bells and whistles.

RC is finally realizing we need a new ship in Cape Liberty to replace the Explorer. Their new ship will homeport there when it debuts in October 2014 at least through the winter of 2015.

So sorry you did not enjoy your cruise. Please don't let this one bad experience influence your vacation plans in the future.

Always....consider it part of the cost of cruising. Many years ago we were on a cruise when Jim's sister passed away unexpectedly. We were on our way back from our last port of call but had we gotten the message 1 hour earlier we would have had to leave the cruise and fly home. After that we always get insurance. In all our cruises we have thankfully only had to use it once when I got a nasty (and very expensive) eye infection and had to use the ship's Dr. and meds. Insurance reimbursed us completely.
