Hello, I recently have used it and i was in the Navy back in 1980-82. I saved about $50 pp off my upcoming Glory cruise. A wonderful surprise and anything helps. I then bought cabin decorations and a bottle of ASTI. What you have to do is fax them a DD214 that shows an honorable discharge. You must have had at least 2 years in the service, but close to that and they may honor it. They did in my case. I had 1 year and 11 months. A small word of warning..or maybe not warning.......i faxed mine to the TA -PVP whatever you want to call them. I called back about a half hour later and she said it was recieved and approved. I then recieve my statement with a due balance and no where did it show the discount. Ok..i say...let me call...she never called back and then i get really pissed. I call all over and get to the department that actually APPLIES the discount. She had never got the fax. She then gave me another fax number...different than the PVPS fax....and an hour later it is APPLIED and i asked her to send me a new due statement with the correct balance due total. The PVP still hadn't called days later, so i call Carnival to gripe about the way this was handled, got a nice and great man in Colorado Springs who upgraded me to a balcony. So.......i went from an inside,,,,,to an oceanview for a cheaper amount with the military discount, to a balcony. Sometimes you just have to keep on top of things until you get it straight.....after all it doesn't hurt to be a GOGETTER sometimes...lolololol................. Hello, Well...congratulations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great feeling huh???????????????????????? 9 nighter.......what ports????????????/ Ft Lauderdale.....Los Olas Blvd...........We have stayed a couple different places there.....one you might be interested in...it's called Irelands Inn. It isn't too near the port, but worth staying and i have a strange feeling you all would enjoy it. Oct 29th is a Saturday......so stay Friday night. NIce restaurant...piano bar......it was classy to watch people stroll in on a Friday night....guess you have to be there...but an awesome experience.....and again, i have this feeling you all would enjoy the ambiance...that's the word i was looking for........ I got my mail today and it felt pretty thick..........as i soreted through the stuff.........................lo and behold...........................a CArnival envelope..............that contained...........................my CRUISE DOCS..........................5 WEEKS AWAY.........................YYYIIIPPPPPPEEE...... Isn't it funny how it makes you feel so much closer to your cruise....when you recieve the cruise documents??????? Anyways............i have to fill it out, already have my Funpass done...so again.........................YIPPPPEEEEEEE................................. Hello, I had read somewhere else that you could call Carnival beofre the cruise and request a table for 2. 1...........Is that true? 2...........If you can request early or late, then why not a table? 3...........If you went with a group of people, can someone cross reference all booking numbers to get everyone seated together? I called Carnival and this lady told me NO to requesting the table for 2. Is she correct? Hello, Somehow....somewhere i got the Casino Hosts' email for the Carnival Glory, when we go in October. I just emailed her to say hi and that we are anxiously awaiting our cruise. She replied back, said a few cordial things and asked for our booking number and cabin number. I am now wondering if she will be sending a bottle of something to our cabin? Anyone have a guess as to what she could have in store for us? Of course i will let you all know what happens. I already have ordered Bon Voyage cabin decorations and a bottle of ASTI as a surprise for my wifey boo boo.....but anything extra will be a plus......yippee....42 more days............. SEE YA :grin:
