  1. Don't have long to wait. We are ten days out now and Roe has already decided which floor length she is taking for formal nights. This is a first for her to be at this point already. I think she is looking forward to this cruise. The cruise is the least expensive we have ever booked, so we will be able to test your theory, Joey. Later,
  2. Wish we were.... Sailed the Quest Transatlantic in May. Loved her.
  3. Perhaps this will get you in the mood. One of our tablemates shot this of Roe and I on our last cruise.
  4. Greetings Shipmates!! We are doing the "doc dance". They arrived yesterday morning via DHL Overnight Service. So, I invited a couple old friends to get us started on our own "doc dance." Later,
  5. Kevin: You're right about A League of Their Own. That was during WWII, so these ladies are Senior Citizens now. That's OK, so am I.
  6. If the ship has a laundromat, Roe will use it. We love Princess because we get free laundry and dry cleaning services as Elite members of their repeat passenger club.
  7. We have had Crazie on two cruises so far and she is very well behaved, most of the time.
  8. Book on the pier with one of the glass bottom boats. We were in one last year and got some great whale video and digital pics. However the boat is not too large, but a lot larger than a zodiac.
  9. Well, now I know what a Kindle is. Looks neat, but very expensive. Heck of a "gift." Congrats,
  10. Following our May cruise, we want to rent a car and drive to Tampa and fly out of there the next day. Anyone had any experience with car rental companies in Miami with Cruise Terminal pickup??
  11. We've almost always taken the Super Shuttle to the ship. Did use a cab on our way back to airport on one trip because of a fairly early flight. Cabs were waiting when we disembarked and we were at LAX with 30 minutes after clearing customs. Sorry I do not remember the fare.
  12. Many years ago we did the Cruise Ship Recommended thing, but not any more. In most ports we have stores we like and have done business with in the past where we make any "serious" purchases. Got Christmas cards from three St. Thomas jewelers last year, so I guess we are one the "A List."
  13. Yep, I've watched movies on a ship. On Sea Days.
  14. We sailed the inaugural of the Celebrity Zenith, way back when. Sailed her again exactly one year later and were invited to diner with Mrs. Chandris, the wife of the owner. How special is that??
  15. We only sailed on the SOS once but had a ball. It was for our first anniversary and we were joined by both of Roe's sisters and their husbands. Sorry to hear she is leaving the fleet Glad you had a fantastic time with DD.
  16. Least favorite had to be to the Acropolis in Athens while aboard the Silver Wind. It was a cold, windy, rainy day. Most of the stuff was under restoration and buried under scaffolding. Our guide, God bless her, felt that had to give us the complete story of every artifact while we were hoping for the short version because we were wet and freezing. When we got back to the bus, to head to the next stop a museum. She was explaining how Greece was the first Democracy, one of the passengers piped up "If this is a Democracy, let's take a vote. How many want to go back to the ship?" Every hand went up. So, we returned to the ship with a very "crushed" guide. Not her fault, but a totally lousy day to be doing what we were trying to do.
  17. We prefer low in the ship and mid-ship. When we can't get that we will move aft. Makes for a direct elevator ride to breakfast and lunch.
  18. We too loved our cruise aboard the Glory. I'm sure you will have a great time.
  19. Gppd Grief: That rope across the river is also the spot where you end up and get out of your tube and go ashore after the event!! If people were having trouble crossing those guides should have bagged it right there. We watched the Carnival Excursion being launched as we floated by their launch site and they were just turned loose while we were connected in group of six and each group was led by a guide. IMHO, this was an accident that did not have to happen.
  20. Iackie is correct we loved our Cave Tubing in Belize. But I do recall our guide telling us that sometimes they had to cancel when the water was too high. Sounds like someone pushed the envelope too far. Very tragic,
