  1. Great Pictures!! We married in the Keys (Marathon, FL) and drove down the Key West the next day for lunch and to look around. Then we headed back up to Miami and a cruise ship.
  2. The Total Cruise Experience. We "vote" for it every time we book another cruise!! Whenever we do a land vacation even overseas we seem to always come to a point where we say "we could have taken a cruise."
  3. Like pretty much everyone else we take books and our MP3 player which we use for music in our stateroom.
  4. I'm with you Jenn. A large ship does not bother me at all. Not sure DW would agree with me. Will be doing the Voyager class Mariner of the Seas next year. Probably the largest ship we have sailed.
  5. Only thing I can think of is "never wait so long between cruises."
  6. Being from Las Vegas, the casino is not a big deal for us. We seldom play, I had too many ex-dealers working for me and never met one who played recreationaly, and they could count cards a heck of a lot faster than I can. I've never been in the Wynn Resort, and that one was named for me.
  7. Glad to hear Crazie made it aboard OK. Well, you guys too. Did she bring her sun glasses?? Did not see them in the picture Rose posted. Have a fantastic week, all of you.
  8. We do it both ways depending on where we are departing for the pier from. If that makes sense. For example we are flying from NYC to Miami on the morning of our Valor cruise. So we will do the grap the luggage thing and board the bus to the ship. When it gets there it gets there. When we have arrived the night before, we normally try to board the ship as early as possible. Same thing when we are driving to one of the California ports.
  9. Joey is correct. You are going to need a cab and the travel time is going to depend on traffic.
  10. We have our own gear. But have not taken it with us recently and the last few times we took it we did not use it. I think our snorkeling days are about over.
  11. About 5 hours to San Pedro and 6 hours to San Diego
  12. Have not used them on any of our recent cruises, but for no particular reason. We too have one at home, in ground, elevated a little higher that to pool to create a waterfall. So I guess take the uniqueness away for the shipboard ones.
  13. Sue: They should pay you to stay in towns like Grants.
  14. What a bummer But, I can certainly understand Carnival's problem. But, it will be a mess for awhile and cause real problems for those scheduled to depart N.O.
  15. A BBC (Baily's, banana and cream), anywhere on the ship.
  16. Sounds great!! We will be right behind you. Leaving Miami on the 17th and also heading to St. Martin and St. Thomas, etc. Perhaps our ships paths will cross. Later,
  17. Venice and Split, Croatia for us.
  18. WOW, we love them all!! Just count us as Eastern Caribbean fans.
  19. Jackie, Just read your pet peeve. I did not realize that we had been on the same cruise and that you were behind me in the buffet line But, not to worry, you don't get a figure like mine being slow in a buffet line. After all we are the Buffet Capital of the World.
  20. Jackie: We have done Antigua at least twice. Nelson's Dock Yard and Shirley Heights are must see areas. A very lovely island that brags that it has a beach for every day of the year. I think you will enjoy it.
  21. I agree with all the peeves already posted. Jenn, before they started adding tips to your bill, you could count on the "no shows" on the last night of the cruise to avoid the wait staff on Tip NIght. The seat saving thing can really get out of hand. We've seen three or four ladies try and save an entire center row of about 30 seats. Give me a break.
  22. Roe would kill me if she knew I was posting this!! On our Honeymoon Cruise, I had a prostate attack and ended up flying home with a catheter inserted and a bag strapped to my leg.!! Yes there were considerable charges, but all was reembursed by our health insurance. However with the pain I was in I'd have paid anything! I've always blamed Roe. Tell friends she was just like all my kids. Give her a new toy and she breaks it!!!! Had surgery a couple of days after I returned home, but it was a trip I'll never forget.
  23. Gee, I've never had a problem saving a chair. Just leave my size 13 combat boots and the latest copy of "Soldier of Fortune" and no one seems to bother it. !! Just kidding guys. I'm not one to spend much time in the sun anyway, so have not noticed if the situation has improved.
  24. Shortest 3 nights. Longest 16 nights.
