  1. You are going to love Azamara!! Just returned from a transatlantic on the Quest about three weeks ago. I posted a review here that you might find interesting.
  2. And, with a large bottle of Grey Goose it will not be long before she will be unable to remember you were even out of town!! Nothing like a happy house sitter!!
  3. Roe is a nut about the house cleaning thing. My job is to charge and test all the electronic, video and photographic equipment and make sure everything is operating and all needed media and cords etc. are good to go. The night before departure we take Puff, the Shih Tzu, to his home away from home down the street where he spends his time with his best friends two female Goldens.
  4. Joey, you better prepare yourself for that meeting
  5. Sue, I'm with you. When I hear "Hot, Hot, Hot" I know I'm on a CRUISE. We also carry duct tape most of the time. A couple of times it came in handy, so as Howard said "Why not?" Jenn: You hang a Canadian Flag on you balcony?? You never cease to amaze me. Liked the "Granny Panty" term. I did not mind at all having grandkids, but it took a little getting used to when I realized I was sleeping with a Grandmother!! Debbie, I think the days of bringing back booze from the islands is drawing to a close, except for those who drive to the port of embarkation. And with the Euro situation, the days of bringing home "bargains" from Europe are over as well.
  6. The link below contains a slideshow of Ms. Crazie on her last cruise. http://s236.photobucket.com/albums/ff15/ew...nt=84fcc6fc.pbw
  7. You gotta be kidding. This year we have spend 22 days at sea, now all I've got to do is go back and add up the other 50 cruises.
  8. Not again!! Tonight's news says she was climbing between balconies. ATLANTIC CITY (WABC) -- Foul weather Monday forced the U.S. Coast Guard to stop searching for a woman passenger who fell overboard from a cruise ship off the Atlantic City coast. The Norwegian Dawn was headed for Bermuda from New York City when 46-year-old Mindy Jordan, of Pine Hill, New Jersey, went overboard at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday, cruise officials said. In a statement, the cruise line said the ship immediately began a search and rescue operation, but did not provide further details. On Monday, the Coast Guard said continuing winds over 50 mph and heavy rain prevented it from resuming the search. "Our thoughts and prayers remain with the family and friends of the guest during this difficult time," said Norwegian Cruise Line spokeswoman AnneMarie Mathews. The Coast Guard said the ship was approximately 45 miles northeast of Atlantic City when the woman was reported overboard Sunday night. It departed from a pier in Manhattan at 4 p.m. The Coast Guard said it was initially notified Sunday night at approximately 8:21 p.m. A helicopter crew from Atlantic City launched at 9 p.m., and arrived on scene at about 9:43 p.m. The helicopter crew conducted search patterns until 10:53 p.m. Then a rescue helicopter crew from a Coast Guard station in Cape Cod, Mass. arrived at the scene at 12:05 a.m. Monday, and conducted search patterns until 3:05 a.m. when it returned to base due to inclement weather. The vessel was cleared to proceed on its scheduled itinerary and is set to arrive in Bermuda on Wednesday.
  9. We to enjoy the little touches as does, I'm sure, most of the cruising world. Recently aboard the Quest the evening candies were made on board, so they were not wrapped in foil. So, they had to be eaten on the spot!! It was a rotten job but someone had to do it!!
  10. Good move!! Now, if they could get rid of the pickpockets
  11. You beat me Jackie, but not by much. My first one was in 1955, it was a "black" diplomatic passport which meant you avoided all the lines and inspections and I could carry anything I wanted to and not be subject to questions or inspections. Now, that was a way to travel.
  12. Hey John, We did the US Airways thing in Charlotte on our way to the Azamara Quest. I got all my docs and saw that we were staying at the Miami Airport Wyndam. So upon arrival in Charlotte I figured out which flight was heading to Miami. We were almost to the other gate, three miles away, when something about the flight number made me get out our tickets and I discovered we were flying into Ft. Lauderdale!! And, of course, the FLL gate was right back where we started from!! That will teach me to "assume" anything!!
  13. I enjoy dining anytime, anywhere. Jackie, do it all!!! Then go upstairs for some extra dessert!! Eat early and often.
  14. Veeery interesting! That knock at your door is the Orbitz stormtroopers who wish to have a word with you!!!
  15. Just like you Howard, it was my idea. Too much "Love Boat" I guess. The Mardi Gras was not very much like the Love Boat, but it was great enough to get us "hooked."
  16. Like it or not, we are stuck with it. Flew to Miami from Las Vegas for a 14 night transatlantic via U.S. Airways and had the one bag each limit. Makes you pack more wisely. Coming back from Rome aboard American we were allowed two bags each, big deal unless we bought more luggage overseas what difference did it make??
  17. Ray, Don't even remember how many camcorders I've had over the year. My first one was a two piece VHS unit with separate camera and recorder. Weighed about as my as my old M16 and backpack combined. I've seen these things for about $375, but still want hear some first hand experiences before I get more serious. Love the idea of getting rid of the tapes and/or other media.
  18. I do quite a lot of research, including booking our own excursions on line wherever and whenever possible. For me this is part of the fun of cruising.
  19. A table for six or eight is our favorite at the early seating. We once were always booking late seating, but as time went on we moved to the early seating. We enjoy meeting new people on a cruise and although we like the anytime dining on Azamara, we still like having the same wait staff each night.
  20. You betcha!!! This program is one of the big reasons we have done 22 cruises on Princess. Other cruise lines could take a lesson from Princess
  21. Anyone using an HD Camcorder with a hard drive?? What has been your experience?? Thinking about making the upgrade. Kind of like the idea of bagging the tapes, but somewhat worried about jarring the hard drive. What do you think??
  22. Shari2, I know you are a Celebrity fan, so you gotta love Azamara.
  23. Depends on the Port from which we are sailing. If we have sailed out of a port many times we are probably in the stateroom unpacking. Now how exciting is that?
