  1. 65 degrees in LV today! My kind of December!!

  2. The chocolates on your pillow have already been eliminated on some lines. BTW, ladies in most European hotels, wash clothes are NOT provided. That was a big subject of discussion during our first day breakfast among our pre-cruise group in Venice this year.
  3. [ Debbie, Great summation of your BtoB on the Glory. We did the Glory about 18 months ago and enjoyed her very much, but we only did the basic week. Never did a back to back cruise per se. But, we did disembark one ship in Ft. Lauderdale and walk down the pier and boarded another one from a different cruise line. So, that was close and perhaps better with different menus, shows and ports. Thanks for sharing.
  4. They are back to San Diego safe and sound. It's Thursday morning and passengers are disembarking.
  5. A review of the Ruby Princess October 8th transatlantic cruise has been posted in the "Reviews" thread.
  6. Below is the link to the pictures we took in Venice, Italy prior to sailing on the Ruby Princess. http://www.photoshow.com/watch/KY5pE7tY Enjoy.
  7. Below is the link to our latest pictures taken in Venice: http://www.photoshow.com/watch/KY5pE7tY Hope you enjoy them.
  8. Our magnetic cabin door signs have arrived. I think they turned out great. Thought I'd post a picture, these are a must for any group cruise!!
  9. No, I don't speak Italian. DW can understand some of it, (her grandparents spoke only Italian). We will be doing three flights to get from Las Vegas into Venice. First will be to Dallas/Ft. Worth (about 3 hours) where we change planes and Fly to London Heathrow. That's about 10 hours on that leg, then we are one the ground for a couple hours and catch a Britishair flight to Venice which is just over 2 hours. The stops give us a little chance to streatch our legs a bit and I love to stop in London. Lived there for a couple years back in the day. We won't leave the airport but can enjoy some scones and clotted cream. This will be our 23rd sailing on Princess, so we have some idea of what to expect. Like your friends we also enjoy Celebrity have sailed with them many times also.
  10. I have no clue how many cruises is enough. With 55 logged, I'm still excited about the next one and looking beyond that for another one. As long as I can crawl up the gangway I'm up for another cruise. Have repeated many ports, but something interesting and different happened everytime.
  11. You are right, Jackwatch. The planning sure is part of the fun of cruising. Having about 20 shipmates to our house next Saturday night for a Sail-Away Party. Should be a blast. I made a DVD of our last visit to Venice and also added shots of the Crown Princess which is the sister to the Ruby. Will just let it run in the background on the TV in the family room to set the mood.
  12. Yep, they are Catagory PT cabins, far forward and oly about four on each side of the ship. I"ve even sailed in one. Not bad at all. They are the same price as an inside cabin. They are available on a lot of Carnival ships, don't want to say "all" because I'm not sure of that.
  13. Transatlantic Cruise is closing in on us. Have 18 of our Shipmates coming to a "Cast Off Party" at our house on September 11th. Spent part of the day doing the menu planning for that night. I've also been arranging a bus to pick us up at our Venice hotel to take us to the ship. Chartered a bus which will hold up to 30 folks for that trip. Made reservations for six of us for a gondola ride followed by dinner at our favorite resturant in Venice. Beginning to download ebooks into my Nook for the voyage. Getting my order put together for magnetic door signs. Other than that I've not even thought about the cruise.
  14. Whoops, did not work this time. So, I guess it's back to the drawing board.
  15. Worked that time!! Will be keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for the help.
  16. Jason: Just tried the first cookie remedy, so we will see if it did any good after I sign off and try and log back aboard. Will let you know.
  17. Don't count us out for this cruise just yet. Still have to get my mind around RCCL, but NJ departure might excite DW. Rose: Can you IM me the pricing again.
  18. It seems to be showing up like a photo negative. The background is actually white. The ruby and the small princess logos are in red. They are 4 x 5 inches and the names of the stateroom occupants will be added to each. This make a nice keepsake and prevents them dissappearing off your door.
  19. Well that did not work too well. Oh well.
