  1. No matter how you get them, the dance is just as sweet Told you it was a snap.
  2. You bet, I'd go!! Cruising to me is like SEX. The worst I ever had was wonderful
  3. We used the Princess system for our upcoming cruise. However they did send the luggage tags via snail mail along with the passenger contract Everything else I printed on line. I liked it and it was no problem. Will be using the Carnival system for our January cruise.
  4. Just booked with CruiseCrazies sponsor Shore Trips for an excursion to Todas Santos from Cabo San Lucas. We have been to Cabo about 20 times, so we wanted to "get out of town" this time. So, now you know where Roe and I will be on our Anniversery and her birthday, October 16th. Will report back on our thought concerning the operation of this excursion.
  5. There are some great business minds running the major cruise lines and they have been throught this before. Prices will east, a bit. More promotions. More advertising, But a lot of people will keep cruising. Count us in that group.
  6. The cabin I would design I would not be able to afford to book.
  7. Well, Jenn, I just could not decide if I wanted to married by Elvis or go through the drive-through wedding chapel Actually, we both thought that Vegas wedding were a little of the tacky side. So, we decided to get married in the Florida Keys. It was during the annual meeting of the Builder's Marketing Society and all our friends from all over the country were there. I booked the Penthouse and the whole roof of the hotel was our balcony, complete with private hot tub. No one knew about the wedding plans, just an announcement in our daily convention schedule that there would be a "Very special BMS event in the Penthouse at 6:00PM." We were married just as the sun was setting. This was all at Hawk's Cay Resort on Duck Key just north of Marathon. Wow, to think that was 15 years ago!
  8. Yes, Karen, We are doing this cruise in reverse. Still want to read your review and get your comments and tips. You're Spanish is probably better than mine, since you live in Mexico. But, I spent a year in Cuba (pre-Castro) and some time Guatamala, so I can limp along in Spanish. How do you enjoy living in Mexico?? I would have loved to do that but my wife has a very rare skin cancer that requires very specialized treatment several times a week. So, we can't get too far from major medical centers. So, I guess we are staying in Las Vegas. Could be a a worse place to be stuck. Actually we love it here. We are retired also, or I should say my wife is. I still give seminars around the country. But only one or two a month. Regards,
  9. Karen, Will be waiting to hear what you experience on this cruise!! I've heard nothing but good about Oceania, but will be looking forward to your first hand experiences. Are you planning to use Oceania transfers to and from the ship? I'm not sure which way we want to go. Thanks to all for all of the good wishes.
  10. We planned our wedding in Florida (instead of here in Las Vegas), so that we would be near a cruise ship for our honeymoon. What the heck, we're in Florida, might as well go on a cruise. And in just over two weeks we be aboard ship again for our 15th Anniversary. It will also be our 50th cruise. Not out of Florida this time, it's a lot shorter flight to San Diego.
  11. Hi Gang, Well, we jumped into the water again yesterday and booked a 12 night cruise aboard the Oceania Insignas out of Rio di Janeiro, Brazil and hitting ports in Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina. We will fly back home from Buenos Aires, Argentina. This is new cruise line for us and a whole new area of the world, so we are really looking forward t this one. Thanks to all of you who send us info on Oceania and for your reviews. This info played a big part in our decision to book this sailing so far in advance. Got the 2 for 1 pricing, free air and prepaid gratuities, so we just could not pass it up.
  12. Probably would have ruined my lunch on the Lido Deck
  13. Terry, Thanks so much for your imput. Loved all the pictures. We just did some of those same ports in May on RCI. Looks good to me. I'll be talking to the TA tomorrow going over details and if all looks good just may take the plunge.
  14. Thanks, John for the excellent info. I knew the air tax was not included, but did not know about the transfers no being covered. We are looking at the 2 for 1 with air. I will go take a look at you review. Thanks again,
  15. Thinking about an Oceana Cruise to South America for next year. Have any of you Cruisecrazies tried Oceana?? Your comments please.
  16. Based on 49 cruises overall, 22 on Princess and 10 on Carnival, I'm sure you find Carnival very different. Last March we sailed on the Glory after 5 years or more off Carnival and were simply blown away. We are heading out next month on Princess, but in January we will be aboard the Carnival Spirit.
  17. NO way do I carry my laptop aboard. Just too much trouble. Use shipboard computers once or twice each cruise to let family know all is OK. I have several cards for my camerain the 1 and 2 GB range so there is no way I'm ever going to fill them with pictures. I carry the laptop when I travel on business, but not on vacation.
  18. Absurd it may be. But, that's what it is. When we sailed out of Brooklyn last October on the Crown Princess we grabbed a cab (actually a van) with two couples from Atlanta and shared the cost. BTW, Brooklyn port is not somewhere you want to wander around. Not the greatest area I've ever seen.
  19. Jacketwatch, your pre and post cruise can and does extend the experience. We did a seven day in March aboard the Carnival Glory out of Port Canaveral. Flew in a week early and swapped one of our timeshares for a place in Orlando and had a very enjoyable week prior to the cruise. By the time the cruise was over, even I was ready to come home. However, that may have been because my long-winded brother in law was aboard with us.
  20. I can't really blame the cruise lines for trying to close all the loop holes. There are lots of folks out there who go through life with an "the world owes me something" attitude. Like "they did not have peanut butter at the buffet, so I should get a free cruise." I've run into a lot of folks like this on our many cruises. They are just looking for something to find fault with and complain about. Your post should help lots of folks who do not or will not read the fine print. As they said in a law class I took "The large print gives and the small print takes away." Don't let your concern about what "might" happen spoil your cruise.
  21. Our first cruise was aboard Carnival Mardi Gras in 1983. We like it enough to have cruised 48 more times since then. Is that "hooked" or what?
  22. Hey Jenn, Have a fantastic time in Alaska. Are you taking that "young" guy with the beard with you this time??
  23. Dan, I've sailed on all the ships on your list and my choice would be Carib. Princess. The hassle of sailing out of San Juan turns me off, even though I've done it about four times. You are not interested in the Western, so that leaves my selection. FLL is an easy in and out and I'll bet you make it into St. Martin this time. We are heading out on our 23rd Princess cruise next month and our 50th overall.
  24. Just emailed our group cruise webmaster to get a link posted on this site for our Spririt Spendor Cruise in January. Can't hurt we've got 67 folks booked but still have few more cabins. Thanks for the URL.
