  1. We too have been there twice. Most recently in April. IN fact I'm wearing a bracelet I bought there then. Sad to see, but I'm sure they will bounce back quickly.
  2. East Coast - Fort Lauderdale West Coast - San Diego Overseas - Haifa, Isreal Most recent overseas - Rome Next US Port - San Diego I think that covers them all
  3. Here's an oldy, but goodie. Carnival's Paradise back when she was a "Non Smoking" ship. Shot is Feb. 2002 in Cuzumel, Mexico
  4. No problem. Sleep late, wander around the ship, art auction, no bingo or casino, we live in Las Vegas, and know the odds all too well. Usually a little reading and a nap. In general, just kick back.
  5. Hi Jenn, We would love to get together when you are here in March. Keep us posted about where and when you will be and we'll figure out something.
  6. Jenn, Just looked at your slideshow again. I think it's great when a cute young girl enjoys cruising with her dad. LOL Actually I wish I could grow a beard like that, When I try I look like Willie Nelson!!
  7. On one cruise, we were joined by DW's two sisters and their husbands. As we were heading toward our cabins, her youngest sister rushed ahead (what else is new) dragging her wheeled carry-on behind her down the corridor. She stopped suddenly to look into an open cabin door (ever done that?) and three people ran into her and they all ended up on the deck! Thank goodness no one was hurt, but it sure was funny
  8. Hi Jenn, Slideshow worked for me as well. Very well done!
  9. We go for the longer cruises. At least 12 days, but longer is better. B2B's are great too. We did one on NCL, returned to Ft. Lauderdale and boarded a Carnival ship for the second week. Fantastic. If you fly any distance, and not many cruise ships stop in Las Vegas, seven days just is not long enough, IMHO.
  10. Jackie, Just did the Grand Canal thing in June. You're right very memorable.
  11. Jenn, The cruise director on our last cruise said "There are only six men in the entire world who look good in a Speedo and none of them are on this ship!
  12. OK, thanks to Cheryl's instructions this should be my Cruise Ship Captain photo. Thanks for the help Cheryl.
  13. OK, let's give it a shot. This is a picture of a very young Skipper with an Admiral. Actually he was the Director of the National Security Agency and I was receiving a citation. I was a very young Intelligence Officer in those days. Well, an Admiral outranks a Captain!! Still looking for a Captain pic.
  14. On Princess we are regularly invited to a special luncheon with the Captain and all his officers. They hold this for the Most Travelled Passengers. They take your picture with the Captain and before the lunch is over you are given an autographed print. And of course anytime you dine with the Captain they take a shot of the entire table and a copy is either given to you then or delivered to your room. As I recall this has been mostly on Celebrity for us. I'll have to try Gregswife photo bucket thing. I'm sure I've scanned a couple Captain pics onto my hard drive.
  15. Jacketwatch, Kind of the opposite of yours. I remember being at dinner the first night of a cruise and one of the ladies at our table asked "Can you feel that motion"? I looked out the window and we were still tied to the dock.
  16. Only one factor for me: Will my wife let me book another one?
  17. I guess I should start this off. My most memorable moment was when we stepped aboard the Majesty of the Seas in Miami following our Friday evening wedding in the Florida keys!! A moment I waited a long time for.
  18. Hey Kieth, I'm with you. Long gowns slit up to ..... Not for you, talking about the ladies.
  19. What has been your most memorable cruise ship moment? Other than the x rated ones, of course. Serious or funny share them all.
  20. In general I find cruise prices slightly lower this season. Lots of new tonnage coming on line. Our group cruise on the Spirit in January has balconies for eight nights for $792 including all charges and taxes.
  21. Almost all ships doing the Eastern Carib. stop in Nassau. We have used a cab to get to Paradise Island and have also used the Water Taxis. No problem either way. When we were last there Day Passes were available, but were very expensive. And, with the short time most cruise passengers have, they just don't seem to be worth the money.
  22. I sure have. On a Carnival ship several years ago. The only people up there were Guys!!
  23. Linda, It varies from year to year, but most April's are plenty warm enought to swim. We have a pool at the house and are always swimming by April. In fact, we never close the pool down. During the winter we kick on the gas heater for the spa and use it even in the coldest weather. I think you can plan on swimming with the late April dates. BTW, you might want to consider the fact that LV is the Buffet capital of the world and that might work better than a BBQ. I used to be involved in the Great Group Cruises on another site and we had several get togethers in Vegas. Usually just let folks stay where they wanted to and got together for a dinner and then broke off into smaller groups for other activities. You can always stay at my resort "The Wynn". The Skipper's last name is Wynn and it's my real name. That's more than Steve can say. In all honesty, I've never even been in the place. My wife has when our son visited, but I've never made it. Looking forward to meeting you all.
  24. Hi Gang, Can we join you for your Vegas party?? We live in Sin City, USA and have for the last 20 years. Also, we are takingt a group of 65 on the same cruise in January 08, so we will have just returned and can fill you in on all the inside scoop. A little toasty here today, about 109 degrees, but it is going to cool down to 98 in a few days.
