That's right Sherry. They use disposable paper cards which are not reusable like to old style ones you are probably used at your folks club.

Comedian aboard the Glory stated: DELTA stands for "Deliver Everyone's Luggage to Atlanta." Thougt I'd pass it along.
-
We wore Teva type sandals and swim suits. You will get wet!! But it is a great adventure, not to be missed.

Just got off the Carnival Glory yesterday. Merbert is correct on the pricing and timing. These are usually very short sessions lasting less that an hour, sometimes only a single game, not like you remberber. Big money maker for the cruise line, not for entertainment. Tons of folks play regularly every chance they get. You will not only have the info in your daily newsletter, but you will hear constant public address system announcements regarding bingo sessions.

Hi Gang, Returned last night from our cruise aboard the Carnival Glory and have not even begun to unpack. DW down with a cold. But, had to check into CruiseCrazies and let you know our Belize Cave Tubing adventure was one of the best shore excursions we have ever had, and we have had a lot. As suggested on this site we booked with Cave-tubing.com and are we ever glad we did. They were fantastic every step of the way!! We had some concern since we knew we would be the Senior Citizens for this excursion, and we were. I'm 72 and Roe is 66, but that was never an issue. We enjoyed our hike through the Rain Forest and the tubing itself was fantastic! We were divided into small "family" groups of six or seven folks together with one of the guides and linked together but placing our feet under the arms of the person in front of us and off we went through two sets of fantastic caves along the river. Passed a huge cruise ship group who only went through one set of caves and were simply turned loose by their guides to fend for themselves. And, for this they paid twice as much as we did. Cave Tubing.com's mantra is "Twice the Fun for Half the Money" and that is exactly what they deliver. If you are cruising the Belize, you owe it to yourself to give this adventure a try!! Review of the cruise comes later.

That is a long time to be in the sea. The Glory must have be inbound toward Pt. Canaveral, since it departs there every Saturday. Almost all of these stories seem to be related to heavy drinking, a lot of cruisers just don't seem to use good sense. I promise to to fall overboard when we are aboard the Glory in about a week.

Thanks for all the wonderful good wishes. One sleep and a wake up call and we are out of here. Of course we have to keep our date with Mickey Mouse before we board the Glory on the 24th. Will be back aboard CruiseCrazies in about two weeks.

Byron, Your review was great. Thanks for the cave tubing information. As you know I booked with cave-tubing.com yesterday and heard back from them in a flash. So we are all set and good to go. You imput made all the difference with DW who as not sure about this adventure. Now, she is looking forward to it as am I. Thanks again,

You are right Charlie, I've found my Special Forces ball cap that says "Mess with the Best and Die with the Rest" seems to keep problems away. Of course being 6' 3" and 240 lbs does not hurt either. I'm sure DW with enjoy the caves, they issue you a miner's type light for your head and I'm taking another waterproof flashlight and a waterproof camera to record the memories. Bryon said the walk through the Rain Forest was simply amazing so I think this excursion will be a real highlight of the cruise. Well I'm off to California to give my seminar then one night in my own bed before we fly out to Florida. Gee, I'll miss DW's last minute panic packing. Awwww

We can relate to the cat thing. Have three of them, who ignore us for a week after we return just to let us know how they feel. The dog on the other had loves it because he knows he get to go stay with a neighbor and his best friend their Golden Retriever. The same neighbor come to the house each day a couple of time to feed and visit with the cats and they love that. She brings the dog home for a visit, but I think the cats could'nt care less about having him back home. Except for our Siamese who has a ball with the dog. They are the two males of the group and have bonded big time. Well, I think I'm packed except for the stuff I want to add at the last minute on Saturday morning. Heading out to the airport soon for my California flight. Wow, I'll see both coasts in 24 hours!! Hope Southwest has stocked lots of peanuts!!

Spirit Airlines to charge for checked baggage
TheSkipper replied to Mebert's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
Well, we will have to wait and see what happens. The airlines are making so much money now they can really afford to tick off their customers NOT. I suppose pay toilets will be close behind. -
Many thanks to Byron for answering all our questions regarding cave tubing in Belize. Based on his recent review and some instant messaging, we are now booked with Cave-tubing.com. Been wanting to do this for a long time!! We will most likely be the oldest on the excursion, but what the heck, I'm not checking out until I do everything I can! As a former Army Ranger and Green Beret, I think I can float down a flipping river in an inner tube! DW is a little spooked that the caves "are dark". Duh. Anyway thanks Byron, this is a done deal.

Byron, How was the actual cave tubing??? You said the walk was beautiful, but not a word about the actual tubing. Leaving Satuday for Orlando and need to book this excursion, but want to hear you take on it,
-
Well, we depart for Orlando on Saturday about noon. Since I am flying to Orange County (John Wayne) Airport tomorrow about five PM, I've had to pack for my two days at University of California, Irvine and for the Disney World Vacation and the Glory cruise. I return friday evening around 8pm and have to turn around the next morning to head for the airport for the flight to Orlando. I think I'm cutting it about as close as I dare. Packing, even for a cruise is becoming more and more of a drag for me. DW loves it! Still have to pack my formal wear and shoes, then I'm good to go. Hopefully, if I do this right, I should only have to move my Dopp Kit and electric razor on Saturday morning and hit the road for the vacation/cruise. Typing this just made me remember that I need to get all the electronics charged and ready. The video cam, digital camera, MP3 player, cell phone and all that neat stuff. NOT, taking my laptop, at least that's what I'm saying right now. Not sure why I keep putting off this packing stuff. After all the cruises I've been on, I have the logistics down pat, but, just can't seem to get started until the last possible moment. Well, bye for now. I'll probably check in from Irvine since my laptop must go with me on that trip. Look out Glory, here we come.

First Time sailing from Port Canaveral: How is it?
TheSkipper replied to harley3312's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
We will be doing our first cruise out of Pt. Canaveral in a little under two weeks. Looking forward to it as a "new adventure." -
We have done 22 Princess cruises so far and have never had a problem getting traditional dining!! Like many of you I have NO interest in PC dining.

I have returned from my Crown Princess Cruise
TheSkipper replied to Bathfizzy's topic in Princess Cruises
Welcome home. Is'nt the Crown fantastic? We sailed on her last October out of Brooklyn. Glad you had a good time. Go ahead and book that next cruise. -
Sounds like you have done all your homework. I'm sure Celebrity will come through on the room. Bon Voyage.
-
If you have not already done it, Dunn's River Falls is great.
-
Welcome Home Byron. Now, how was the Cave Tubing?? Been waiting to hear.

Hi Gail and Paul, I did a LOT of research before we made our Uniworld decision, in fact they were not in the running until I went to a local presentation at a travel agency. The thing that impressed me most was that they had "real" beds, not sofas that converted into beds at night. The bed linens were the greatest, monagramed and beautiful. Their cabins were small but state of the art with flat screen TV, etc. and plenty of storage. The bathroom had a nice separate shower. The food was fantastic and hard to believe when you saw the size of their kitchen. In Europe you normally tie up in town two or three abreast and have to walk over and through the more inboard vessels which gives a good look at other river cruise boats and I saw none better appointed than ours, in fact, most were "less than". For example, coffee was served in French Coffee Presses on our ship and in plastic thermal pitchers on others which we tied up next to. We did the air included thing and were promptly met in Amsterdam and bused to the ship. Upon arrival the entire crew including the Captain was outside to assist with the luggage. The Captain did actually bring one of our bags to our cabin. Now, that's service.

We did the Uniworld River Duchess last year from Amsterdam to Vienna. 15 days in all. Fantastic trip which we enjoyed very, very, much. Food was great, entertainment was very good and the people we met were wonderful. Best part was that you tied up down town everywhere and all shore excursions are included in you booking price. Uniworld divided us into three groups, so we got a lot of personal attention. Saw other cruise lines where everyone tailed along in one group and had to wear headphones to even hear the tour guide. It is an entirely different experience that aboard a huge cruise ship and we were a little hesitant about how we would like it. We need not have worrried we loved it. Would go back in a minute.
