  7. I agree that the new limit is fair and I'm sure it was brought about after it was abused by some. We will still have more than enough time. I do think however, that a direct communication to members was in order.
  8. Just looking through our most recent mailing from Princess and noticed some of the perks for Elite members of the Captain's Club have been watered down. Unlimited internet usage now has a dollar limit based on the length of the cruise. Used to be free laundry and dry cleaning. Dry cleaning is now missing. I'll have to read the rest in details, but this is simply being slipped very quietly into thier brochures. Pretty sneaky.
  9. We did the UniWorld River Duchess last year from Amsterdam to Vienna. Fantastic experience. I think the trip was 14 days or perhaps a couple of days longer. Food was simply great! Staff as good as any we have had on our 47 cruises. Give it a try, you will love it. Oh yes, all shore excursions are included in your fare. That's a huge plus in Europe. Sailing with RCI this summer in Europe and don't even want to think what the excursions are going to cost us.
  10. Got Christmas cards from three different jewelers in St. Thomas in December. Should give you an idea what we shop for. We have been on their "A" list for several years now.
  11. Byron, Will be looking for your comments on the tubing. Of course, I'm a little, no a lot older than you, but what the heck. Always have loved doing new and different things. Was the oldest in our group to climb Dunn's River Falls and that was a piece of cake. Done quite a bit of white water rafting, so I'm looking forward to this.
  12. Hey Guys, We are booked on the Dawn on October 14th. Why not join us???
  13. Sure, we have done it several times. No problems.
  14. Well finally talked by DW, her sister and husband to go cave tubing in Belize on our upcoming Glory trip. Never have tried it, but what the heck you only go around once. Have heard lots of good things about the group at www.cruise-tubing.com So, we are going to give them a try.
  15. Will be interested in hearing your comments on Costa. This is another cruise line that we have yet to try.
  16. Like Keith and Rita, our loyalty is to cruising, not a specific cruise line. In terms of the most cruises we have taken on any one line I guess Princess is first followed by Celebrity, RCI, Carnival. Our all time favorite is Silver Seas, but can't afford them often. We decide where we want to go, then check and see who is sailing there. Always wanted to HAL, but simply have not connected as yet, because they have not been sailing where and when we want to go.
  17. Atta Boy! Now your glass will remain full. Congrats.

  20. Great pics!! They were ready for the Super Bowl!! Only sailed once over SB and you are right it is a blast.
  21. I also think you will love the Crown. We did. Enjoy the anticipation, that's part of the fun of cruising. We are holding our breath until our next set of documents arrive. Should be any time now. I hope, I hope, I hope!!

  24. OK, glad to see you've made up your mind between East and West!! We will give you a full report on the Glory upon our return. This will be our first time out of Pt. Canaveral, so it should be interesting. Lots of reviews and pictures of the Glory on line. Very "colorful" ship.
  25. Too bad, but I certainly understand. Roe has been retired for about five years now, while I still do some teaching and consulting, but I control my own schedule, so I don't let it interfere with cruising. I'll be teaching in San Diego, at UC Irvine and in St. George, Utah the two weeks prior to departing for Orlando. In fact, I'll wrap in Irvine on Friday night, fly back to Vegas and depart for Orlando on Satuday. I'll pack for the florida trip and the cruise before I go to Irvine Switch my shaving gear and I'm good to go. Another time, another ship.
