  1. Beside they would not fit in the suitcase. Huh, Jackie.
  2. Good. Then you can keep your head above the oil!! LOL
  3. They are between a rock and a hard place from a marketing standpoint. IMHO. They have had months of fare cutting, adding perks, etc. and it is working. So, now do they risk turning off the tap with the fuel surcharge??

  5. Cheryl: We were on the Valor two weeks ago and ran into the 1PM thing. Although after lunch we just went ahead and sneaked through the fire door and got to our cabin about 12:30.
  6. Being gently rocked to sleep!! Yep, that is great.
  7. Because I love it!! (and I can). It's as simple as that.
  8. Shaunna: You will be able to get on around 11:30, but will not be able to get into you Stateroom until 1 PM. So, your hand luggage will go with you to lunch. Not a big deal, just be aware.
  9. RCI's older ships all did have small staterooms. Majesty of the Seas was they ship we did our Honeymoon cruise on 17 years ago, so she has always been special to us. As best I can recall the Sky staterooms were not that small. There are a lot of very beautiful public areas on the Sky. I think you will have a ball.
  10. We have sailed on the Sky and only minor observation was that the rooms are smaller than aboard a Carnival ship. Actually we got off the sky from a mini-suite and walked down the dock and boarded the Carnival Paradise interior room and it was bigger than the room we had just left. Other than that she was a great ship which I think you will enjoy. Later,
  11. Usually we go the buffet, but this last cruise for some reason, not planned, we had several breakfasts in the dining room and loved it. Later,
  12. WOW, that's enough to get anyone to give up Bingo!!
  13. Joey: We have not done a back to back by your definition. But, we disembarked the NCL Sky in Ft. Lauderdale and went down the pier and boarded the Carnival Paradise
  14. Jackie: Don't know this first hand, but someone told me that the single game before the show was $10 for a single card or $20 for three cards. Jackpot was $700 and there were tons of people playing.
  15. And guess who is trapped inside that barrel of oil??? You Are!!!!
  16. That's for sure Cheryl. They had a game every night before the show aboard the Valor, so we had to sit through it in order to get a decent seat.
  17. Where are all those Bingo players??
  18. Just wondering how many of you play Bingo on a cruise?? How much do you budget (if you do budget) for Bingo play?? Seems to be a very popular shipboard activity. Answer for us: No we don't play (I find it boring and Roe does not seem to have any interest) So, our budget for Bingo ZIP. But how about you????
  19. Joey, et al: Here is what my TA said re fuel surcharge: "ALL bookings. This was the result of a lawsuit filed in Florida a while back. The cruise lines ended up refunding $$$$$ when the price of oil went down, but they kept the right to apply surcharges to established bookings if the price of oil went back up. The max they can charge is $10 pp per day... but that is what they were charging when the rate was $140 bbl. If they add a surcharge, it may be much less than that." Looks like we are all on the hook.
  20. Joey: Don't really know the answer. All cruise lines have "reserved the right", but have no idea how or to whom it would be applied. I'm going to email my TA and see how he answers the question.
  21. I was placed on ALERT by my TA that the fuel surcharge may well appear again prior to the Group Cruise I have in the works for October with RCI.
  22. Good news for our group cruise aboard the Mariner in October. By then everyone will have forgotten about Swine Flu and be ready to return to Mexico.
  23. This is the link to our pictures from our cruise last week. http://www.box.net/shared/62hr6iia1g Enjoy,
  24. Jackie: Selection in both the main dining room and at Rosie's buffet were outstanding IMHO. We ate a lot of breakfasts and lunches in the dining room this time which is a switch for us. At Rosie's we loved the Deli and the pick your own ingredients WOK station.
