  1. The Bible belt is not the only place that the Blue Laws are affecting. Pennsylvania still has quite a few in effect. For example, car dealerships will face hefty fines for being open on Sundays. It is rare to be able to buy a car in PA on Sunday.
  2. Congratulations on the booking, Joey. Enjoy the cruise.
  3. It's good to hear from you, Jackie. Glad you're enjoying the cruise.
  4. Welcome to CruiseCrazies, arlos!! It's great having you with us. Please post often.
  5. But then again, how would you feel about going to Mexico this week?
  6. Howard they are talking about a different climate entirely.. case in point.. lets take our own Joe and Joan.. we know how they dislike the Caribbean.. so they book a new england fall cruise something happens and the itinerary switches to Bermuda.. ..and lest say Joe and Joan have to fly to their port of embarkation and the airlines refuse to refund.. so either use the tickets or lose that as well..now with that being said .. and as this discussion continues.. Has anyone else realized that this is another perfect example why you need travel insurance! I do understand what you're saying., but there is not too many cruises that are taking their ships up north. It seems like most are staying at sea. I am all in favor of giving a refund (or 100% credit). I agree that this is a perfect example of why you should have insurance. I wonder how many people who have land trips to Mexico are asking for their money back also. I wonder how many of the resorts are telling them that the money is non-refundable.
  7. I think that a 50 % return is quite drastic. This is a true act of God, and these people are still getting a full cruise. No one should expect to get all the ports signed up for. It's amazing that an overwhelming number of cruises do get to where they say they were going as it is. Cabin credit of some sort would be nice, but even that can be very expensive to a cruiseline.
  8. BON VOYAGE, tracey 12333458!! Have a terrific cruise!
  9. BON VOYAGE, TimOfPost255!! Have a terrific cruise!
  10. I want to make them feel guilty for offering... I'm sure you can do that. They should feel guilty even if they were just considering to do it.
  11. I'm sure you can find one better than in Florida at the airport.
  12. PA has a bit also. Plus the 1st oil well in the US. (Coal, Rose)
  13. Sure. Do you think the galley will heat it up for you?
  14. Yes, it sounds like this was the authors first cruise and he didn't really do any research.....or maybe he did and just wanted to write a controversial article. Actually, Christopher Elliott has been writing about travel for quite a while. He writes for the Tripso board, and he has an syndicated article in the Travel section of the Sunday paper. He is always tooting his own horn.
  15. I am very concerned about this to add a surcharge for food in the dining room is outrageous IMO and $14.95 at that..... I can see the late night surcharge..( less personal less overhead cost savings plus revenue) personally i would make it in effect after 1 AM .. As to the ways passengers are getting even the author is full of it... IMO This guy wouldn't know a port hole from a bung hole I've read a lot of Christopher Elliott's stuff before, and I think that most is garbage.
  16. This is a sign of the times. Princess has had just one ship sailing to the Caribbean in the summer for the last few years, and that was from New York. They are cutting their allotment of ships in Alaska next year, and will have more Caribbean sailings. It will be nice to have a choice of Princess ships to sail in the Caribbean.
  17. Anyone who thinks that cruising is "All-Inclusive" just isn't doing his homework before choosing a vacation. I don't think that the cruiselines are trying to hide anything in their advertising. There may have been a time that happened, but I just don't see it now. I personally like to be able to choose the things I have to pay for. Truly all--inclusive vacations just build the cost of the "free" items into their price. If you don't use some of the all-inclusive freebie's, you still pay for them. On cruises, you can avoid paying for things you either don't want or don't use. I'm not sure how people think, but very few of us get something for nothing.
  18. That depends on the type of item. For example, if i get key chains, I'd get one for everyone. If I got magnets, I'd get one per family.
  19. Absolutely. No problem at all. But on the other hand, if anyone gets near the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, I think that they have better samples.
  20. I love the idea also. As a matter of fact, I was going to do it even if we had no plans for it. I've already started to collect trinkets.
  21. BON VOYAGE, airlinesteward!! Have a terrific cruise!
