I've never heard of it either. The only thing I have ever seen was on HAL where they had a drink card for alcohol like a soda card on the other lines. I know that TA's get credits that they can use towards gifts depending on how many bookings they get in a group. They can use it to buy the cruisers a bottle of champagne. That's the only thing I've ever heard about that.
RCCL is one of the last holdouts on dropping the surcharge. I'm sure that, now that Carnival did it, they will be dropping theirs in the next few days. They can't let Carnival get that marketting ploy in for too long.
Congrats on the booking. We did our 1st repositioning cruise this year, and it was great. You couldn't beat the price. Enjoy the anticipation. You'll have enough time for it.
I think that as important of a marketing ploy that the cruisecam is, it is still not a major priority to either the ship or the company. There are many companies that have either few or no cruisecams (Carnival, to mention one). I like looking at them also, but that's life.
