    Hello. We are scheduled to port in these places and for both the city is two hrs. From port. Does anyone know if there is a shuttle service to town? Our ship is the Sapphire Princess BTW but I imagine if other cruise lines have a shuttle then so will Princess. Thank you.

    Well for me this cultural immersion idea and for the prices they are charging is inflated. I would love to see a,stop in Havana some day but from a standard type ship with all the amenities and I would not mind paying more but that that much more. The question is will that day come.

    To each their own . The cool thing is there are so many different types of cruise ships that there is an appeal for people who like them big to people like them very small. Whatever you do keep on sailing ?

    Well that is good to know. If I got an urge to rent a scooter which I've never driven in my life anyway its now gone! Walk or taxi, thats it.

    Anyone see the new Paula Deen pic where she is pretending to be Lucy Ricardo with a red wig and her son is supposed to be Ricky but his face is covered by brown make up? Well she is catching hell for this too. In real life Ricky looked nothing like that. His complexion was rather white.     Well some of todays other ships are way bigger like the 225k ton Oasis class ships, the Quantum class is 169k tons and Carnival is building a 6k passenger ships so I see your point but todays ships are getting bigger all the time. It may not be mid size now but by 2020?

    Wow. Virgin Atlantic reportedly has good CS and good reviews so hopefully their cruise line will be as good too. I do wonder how long it will take to perform like the established cruise lines, say Princess or Celebrity. I would imagine they will have experienced crew members in leadership roles so lets see. I think its a good bet to succeed.

    Good to hear from you and congrats on your 25th. anniversary. Sorry about the embarkation mess but glad to hear that was the only glitch. I agree that Princess provides very good CS. I have come to expect that from them.

    Maybe it's me but I think too much is made of bottled H2O. Sure if you are in port and don't trust the local stuff then that's fine but otherwise tap H2O from good sanitary system is fine. I drink tap on the ship, never a problem.

    I could not agree more Jan. We have done a Med and a Med/Holyland cruise and they both started in Oct. The fare was much less, the crowds fewer and most importantly the weather was much nicer. If you can go to the Med then.

    Interesting. Maybe you are enthralled by what is unfamiliar. We were in Tahiti and had a cab ride from this French girl so thinking that you are in paradise i asked her where she like to go for her vacations. Well to my amazement she said Las Vegas!! We shared a minivan from our hotel in Miami to the ship with a Dutch family who are used to seeing Amsterdam, old style Europe. So what were they enthralled by? The high rise skyline of Miami!!
