It's the airport Hyatt and it's total $179.00 which is a bit more than what I wanted but as you say add the two meals and the shuttle and it evens out.
-
I think we will stay by the airport. I reserved a Hyatt which may be a little pricey but had free shuttle from MIA and brkfst. so it sort of evens out
-
Thank you. How far is Bayside from the pier?
-
We have a flight scheduled to MIA arriving 2230 the night before our cruise on the Getaway. So how far is the dock from MIA vs. say south beach to the dock? I am inclined to stay over night at an airport hotel but if the dock is close to south beach we will consider staying there. Thank you.

Holland America's Koningsdam Open for Summer 2016 Booking

I do,like the family suite idea. In fact that's a great idea. NCL has solo cabins too though I dont know how many. 12 seems a little smallish. -
And now I’m hungry for naan… Got some garlic naan today. Come on down

This is another innovation and its very cool. I was told on our last CCL cruise on the Legend that the newer CCL ships have tandoors or Indian clay ovens to make genuine Indian breads. These days it seems he who innovates most wins and it's great for the consumer.

We have one now. May 2 on the NCL Getaway out of Miami.

Great advice, thank you. We do plan reserve the shows we want to see ahead of time. Good to know about the 15 minute time limit for them. We took the $200.00 OBC. Pretty good I think. It seems like dinner seating is like breakfast seating in the MDR. We like to meet people so that's cool. I like smart casual so no sandals for me at dinner. LOL. Cheers, Larry

So we spontaneously decided to book a cruise today. Its May 2 out of Miami on the NCL Getaway. Its our 1st NCL cruise and its such a cool looking ship so we are very excited for this one. This is not so much for the ports, Nassau, St. Thomas and Tortola, but also for the ship itself. So as this is our 1st on free style any tips from experienced NCL cruises for restaurants, shows etc. would be appreciated.

My Top 10 Travel Moments of 2014
jacketwatch commented on Jan115's blog entry in Jan's Sea & Shore Escapes
Utterly cool list! We have been to Rome and Ephesus in the month of Oct. and I highly recommend this time to go there. The weather is way better, the crowds are less, far less and its less $$ too. We had a private guide in Ephesus as well and its worth it. Did you se the terrace houses? -
Celebrity Now Offers City-Stay Vacation Packages
jacketwatch replied to Jan115's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
That's very generous. I wonder what the cost is and if you can tailor it as for us we would just want the hotel and breakfast portion and the transfers. We prefer to see sites on our own and are not big drinkers. -

Wow. People hear about Noro on ships but not a flu bug. Sorry to hear you had a bad back end.,I sympathize, especially about that drive home. -
How Working on a Cruise Ship Could Boost Your Finances
jacketwatch replied to Jason's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
When I read the part about working up to 12 hrs. per day and no days off for perhaps the entire time away I cringe. It seems to me that even though its legal you need a day off at least once per week just for a mental break. -
I went to "that other site" and read other reviews of this cruise and saw that there was OBC and future cruise credit offered. Did they not offer you anything? They should have and I do believe you can still get it by calling RCI if they did not. They will have records for such things. Really sorry to hear of this bad experience in any case.

Thank you. We want to go in 5-6 days early to Singapore to see it some and get over jet lag.Actually I hear that there has been some unrest there which is very atypical as its know as a very peaceful place with disciplined people. The economy is the reason it seems and prices are very high, even higher than normal. A guy I know who lives there has noted how some businesses have pulled out due to operating costs.

Ocean Princess Moving to Oceania Cruise Line
jacketwatch replied to 7SeaCruiseTravel's topic in Let's Talk Cruise!
The smaller ships have a different vibe, more intimate, and you get to know the passengers better but also lack in the glam/glitz vibe that newer ships have. I suppose its what you prefer. For Tahiti I think the smaller ship was perfect. I wonder if now the pacific princess will shift over there. -
