  1. The sad part is hrs overall health is threatened by this lifestyle. She was already obese and needed a cane so eating like that while being a diabetic (remember all the deserts) can't be good.,
  2. We exchanged email ads with all of our tablemates and after the cruise she emailed me with her latest ailment, an attack of diverticulitis!
  3. On the Connie we were seated with a woman who after she learned we were both in the medical field apparently felt compelled to tell us every night her health history! Over and over again and again. What a whiner. One night she complained about not getting her bread of time to dip I her escargot so her hubby finally called the waiter only to be told by her to be quiet and not create a scene. Wow! Poor guy. This couple order three appetizers and three desserts every night, they were both pretty big, especially her and she claimed to be a diet controlled diabetic!! Had to be the worst tablemates we've ever had.
  4. The only thing I did not like about our last cruise was the behavior of the crew member at our muster station. He acted like a drill Sgt. and really our group was quiet so I thought there was no need for this. However if people were distracting others due to being too loud then do what you must to get their attention but don't but don't get bossy unless you have to.
  5. I used to do it but not any more. It was sort of fun, a game but now I either bring on red wine for use in my cabin or just buy spirits from the cruise line for use in my cabin.
  6. its on the CCL Legend which embarks 4/27. the ports are, not necessarily in order, Cozumel, Roatan, Belize and Grand Cayman.
  7. Hello guys. As some may know we went to India oct. 2 for a wedding and we were to have a week in Bangkok on the way back which we did but 5 days of that was spent by my wife in a hospital there with severe gastro enteritis from something she got in India as she was feeling poorly by the time we got to BKK. So for us we saw virtually nothing of BKK except for the hospital. I spent the nights there with her, went to the hotel in the morning, showered and returned to the hospital and thats about how time went there for me. Oh well. The good points are many however; 1. She is well again and her health is good. 2. The hospital, Samitivej, is the best in BKK according to a friend who lives there and the care was excellent. The nurses and doctors were great and very kind. 3. The hotel staff at the Grand Millenium where we stayed we extraordinary. They were very kind, sent flowers to her room and even waived a late check out fee as they felt we had been thru enough. We plan to return to BKK again some day and will stay there for sure. 4. A week before we left I took an insurance plan offered by Allianz thru the UAL website and this will pay for the hosp. bill. 5. We were able to leave as planned as Sue's recovery accelerated the final two days so we did not lose our flight. 6. We flew ANA biz class outward and Asiana biz back and I heartily endorse their status as 5* airlines, esp. ANA. Now we are looking f/w to an April cruise out of Tampa preceeded by a wedding in Clearwater the day before. And you can bet I will but travelers insurance! I recommend it for everyone.
  8. As I recall they said the NV which hit us was treated to passengers returning from Jerusalem. While there I saw many people touching and even kissing religious iconic structures such as the holy seplecure and so on so this is very plausible to me.
  9. Very sad indeed. I can only imagine what the family is going thru. Do cruise lines need to begin using life guards? As this is the first time this has happened on CCL I would say you do not need to post a life guard. This happened in broad daylight and with adults present and the circumstances should have prevented this if the adult was diligent. It's a terrible accident but as parents it's your job to supervise kids. If kid is abducted say in a mall do you change mall police practices? Again it's up to the parents. I would bet they will regret this for the rest of their lives. Very
  10. Glad to made the best of it. Sounds like they need some serious adjustments to make.
  11. Noro virus originated as a land based illness in Norwalk, Conn. I think it was. The ship virus thing is a bad rap. It is very hard to eradicate on a ship. On the Connie in 2011 our boarding was delayed due to deep cleaning of the ship from NV on the previous cruise. As keith noted the crew followed meticulous precautions and even put S and P on your food but despite this the NV reemerged and affected our cruise inc.me. Personal precautions are great but no one can be perfect. It takes just one slip so I hope this vaccine will be developed as it would be help to so many. Hello from India BTW. Had one bout of "Delhi belly" but not so bad. Glad I took cipro.
  12. Hi guys. We are in Narita now after a 12+ hr. Flight form Chicago on ANA biz class. Gotta say there is a legit reason ANA gets a 5 star rating. Totally great service and comfort level. We connect in an hr. to BKK, then connect to,Delhi the next day so as we have a hotel near the airport we can get a good nights sleep. So far so good. I must say Suntory whiskey is very good. Had a 17 yr. old malt and not bad at ball. It's like 0200 Chicago time and 1600 here and I'm awake. Hope the jet lag doesnt hammer us. Cheers, Larry
  13. On the Tahitian, now the Ocean Princess 104 of the about 700 passengers were honeymooners. Of course the destination may have had something to do with it. :D
  14. Well its true. Same thing with cars and smart phones. Super cool sells!
  15. Well why not. Seems this trend, where the money is generated from.
  16. I have heard the prices are very high so no, I would not go. Also I don't understand why they would have three class levels as this is so, well 1912. This thing seems weird to me, like if one of the blimps was renamed the Hindenburg. Even if I could afford it I still wold not go. Just doesn't seem right for some reason.
  17. I will follow, this one! I am very interested in Greenland. Seems like one of those isolated places.
  18. I luv what they are doing. Ice cream paroles, hot dog stands R great touches.
