  1. Big grin here. We will also be on the Enchantment in december. We have sailed on her before in 1999. It will be interesting to see the before and after pics.
  2. looking forward to our dec '05 trip on the Enchantment, we we last on her in march '99.(our first cruise). It will be nice to compare the photoes and see the differences.
  3. Watched all 5 episodes, and was so impressed with all the work involved. I loved all the before and after photos. I wish they would do something like this for the Enchantment of the Seas lengthening.
  4. Well I would be disappointed with Carnivals offer. OK so you are refunded the portion of the cruise that is lost, in this case 20 %, and then you are given a $50.pp shipboard credit. But you have to stay an extra day at a hotel and eat some where, so the extra cost to the consumer could potentially be in the $200 range. Especially if you like to stay at a upscale hotel pre-cruise, which are in the $125 -150 range. Which in this case you may not be able to change last minute, to a more frugal hotel. Plus you have lost your vacation day, sometimes booked a year in advance. Not everyone has unlimited vacation days off work. No one has control of the weather, but I would expect a better shipboard credit, plus some other offer for another cruise. Maybe I'm expecting too much here. Of course I will never book a cruise again between June 1st and Dec 1st. , in the Caribbean. Did that once, quite a rocky cruise too.
  5. Our first 2 cruises we used a TA. Cruise #3 we booked with a online company. Cruise 4 & 5 we booked directly with cruiseline, online. We always book separate flights and hotels, online. Because I want the cheapest deal (I prefer to do my own research), probably why I don't usually like booking with a TA.
  6. My journal is from www.journalsunlimited.com They have a varied selection of other journal topics as well. You can click on the pages and even print them off.
  7. I was just looking through my travel journal and I realized I had a big grin on my face....ahhhh memories! So how many of you keep a travel journal? This one has entires for: Vacation Spot, date of trip, how I(we) traveled. The Weather/Temperature was: Where I (we) stayed: Who I (we) traveled with: People I (we) met: Places I (we) visited: What I (we) enjoyed most: Most memorable event: Places to remember for next time (restaurants, special attractions, entertainment, etc.): Special Purchases: Notes: If you don't have a travel journal, I suggest you get one. The tough part is keeping it up and writing a few notes for the day. Upon looking at my journal, I found that there are a few missing days, and now I wonder what I did those days....I had fun that I know for sure!
  8. So we will be on this ship somewhere mid ship, I wonder if we'll get a new cabin? I wonder if there is some way to find out?
  9. After the Sunset....with Pierce Brosnan and Salma Hayek. I think the ship is Seven Seas Navigator. But one of my favouritemovies is the remake of an Affair to Remember....called Love Affair with Warren Beatty and Annette Bening. I have yet to see Titanic in its entirety.
  10. Wow that is something else! Looking forward to rediscovering it in Dec '05. Our first cruise was on thre ship back in '99, we were awe struck back then, so imagine it after its had its stretch!
  11. May 5/05 Enchantment of the Seas encountered stormy weather early into its Atlantic crossing from Fort Lauderdale to Europe, where the vessel is scheduled to undergo a drydock lengthening at Rotterdam’s Keppel Verolme Shipyard. Carrying workers but no revenue passengers, Enchantment hit rough seas on Saturday after sailing from Port Everglades late Thursday night. Five stateroom windows were broken, causing some water damage on decks two and three. ‘No one was injured and there was no significant damage to the ship,’ a Royal Caribbean International spokeswoman said. She said Enchantment is currently sailing in calm seas toward Rotterdam. We are sailing this ship in Dc/05, and have been on her in March of '99 glad it wasn't worse!

  14. Best Cabins and In room Info Of course every ship is different, but we always enjoy have a couple of chairs and a small sofa w/ coffee table to watch TV. A small fridge for all cabins would be a must if I was designing a cabin. Vanity mirrors that tilt. Better blow dryers. Another thing I hated on the Sun Princess was that my night light would not work with the lights all off, current was not there when off, so our room was completely dark at night. If it wasn't for a sliver of light coming under the door to help me get my bearings, I'd have no toes left! If you don't have a outside cabin a few camera views of the ship on the TV would be nice, this would entice a person to get out and enjoy the ship. These are just small convieniences that may life easier. One of the things we appreicated about RCI was that we were kept informed of the daily goings on, you didn't have to read the letter all the time. Tips on shopping on shore, and cruise ship specials of the day. Plus when we missed a show, they had it later on our cabin TV, late at night or the next morning, so we didn't feel like we missed a thing, or we got to enjoy it again. Nice touch. In my opinon RCI and Princess was equal in food, but we prefered RCI for entertainment and service, and Sun Princess was a nightmare to get around on, you had to take a evevator to one deck and the walk to the other end of the ship to get another elevator to get where you wanted to go. In other words there wasn't one elevator that took you from top to bottom.
