  1. I'm not really sure about Celebrity, but I have read where passengers on RCCL would slap a luggage tag on a case of soda or water and it was delivered to their cabin.
  2. Downloaded and installed on my tablet. Works great. Just wondering, Do I have to buy it again for my phone? ALSO, when you do download it and install, when logging into the CruiseCrazies site, use your email address. For some reason, it wouldn't accept my CruiseCrazies username.
  3. Photos: Motorcycle Group Visit, Tour Bermuda Massive motorbikes with TVs and airbags aren’t exactly common in Bermuda – except for this weekend – when dozens of them could be seen on Bermuda’s roads. The group arrived in Bermuda aboard the Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas at approximately 8.00am on Saturday [Apr 20] and toured Bermuda heading all the way to the east end, arriving back in Dockyard in time to make the ship’s afternoon departure. 4. I agree. There are many sites out there that can be helpful in planning your cruise. But in my opinion, Cruise Critics has really began to fail in it's moderation of posts. When I booked our cruise on the Brilliance for this November, I looked at Cruise Critics for recent reviews of the ship and itinerary. I posted a question about RCCL luggage tags (because we never sailed RCCL before) and was "Flamed" (insulted) by 2 different posters. They said I should have done a search for the info on the site before wasting their time. That's the difference between "them" and "us"!! Cruise Crazies is a fully family friendly site and Flaming is not tolerated. If you choose to search outside of Cruise Crazies, before posting a question to that other site, give us a try. You may be surprised!!
  5. Thanks guys!! Hope you had a fantastic cruise Getting addicted to 2 cruises a year...things could be worse!!! Chrissy was almost as surprised when I booked this as she was when I booked our cruise on the Triumph in 2003 and also arranged for our wedding renewal onboard!!! Captain did the ceremony and we had a party with guest passengers. A couple we had sailed with on the Grand Princess a few years prior to that were our best man and maid of honor!!! Guess I'm sneaky like that!!!
  6. Perfect timing Jason. Should come in handy for my upcoming blog and Live Chat session!!! I'll get it!!!
  7. Thanks Rose! I can do that. I'll probably do most of the updates when in Cozumel because the WiFi at Paradise Beach is FREE!! And FREE is one of my most favorite words!!!
  8. Sail with us as we take our first cruise with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines aboard the "Jewel of the Seas". If you have never sailed before, or never sailed with RCCL this may be an interesting cruise. I will be posting as often as possible (as connections allow) and you may even find me in the Live Chatroom for streaming Q&A's!! If you are online on the CruiseCrazies site anytime between May 2nd and May 6th, pop into the "LIVE CHAT ROOM" and you may see me there!!! All you have to do is highlight the "Connect" tab above then click on the "Cruise Chat Live" button. I will begin posting the morning of May 2nd (Pre-Cruise) and will continue through our cruise which features a stop in Cozumel. Don't miss this.........
  9. My idea of fun Kev is laying in a chair with a DOD in hand when on the ship When in Cozumel, were planning on going to Paradise Beach where they have free WiFi so I should find the time to add to the thread. Got to see what the charges are onboard the Jewel before I purchase their limited WiFi service
  10. I had originally planned this for my November sailing on the Brilliance of the Seas, but I think my upcoming sailing on the Jewel of the Seas may be good testing ground. Now keep in mind, since the Jewel hasn't been dry docked yet (they are scheduled for dry dock in 2016), the WiFi areas on the ship are limited and may be expensive. But I am planning on daily (if I can) updates right here on CruiseCrazies about the ship, cruise and the single port we visit, Cozumel. I will begin posting the morning of May 2nd and will take you with me as much as possible to debarkation. You never know, you may even find me in the Live Chatroom for current Q&A's!! So stayed tuned.............
  11. The thing about cruise reviews is that you have do a little investigative work to come up with a final conclusion about any specific cruise line, ship or port. First thing is to try to look at the most recent then look to past reviews. There are so many reasons that a person may post a bad review, and most of the time it is either just that person (the kind you can't make happy no matter WHAT you do) or a first time cruiser that has nothing to compare that specific cruise to. When I look at past cruise reviews, I try to look at a 3 month or so window of posts then weigh the positives and the negatives. More positives or negatives, I concentrate on just THOSE posts. But keep in mind, when people post a bad cruise review, there are also conditions such as "training" cruises that will cause a cruise to be less personable than others that they don't take into consideration. Not everyone on that cruise had a "trainee" at their service. Maybe it was just them!! No one is born trained to work on a cruise ship that services 4000 people per day. Just remember, the only bad cruise is when the ship sinks!! Failures in any mode of vacation can happen.
  12. I've got LOADS of great pics from past cruises, but it seems the only way to upload them to the site is if you have them stored in an online site Don't see a way to upload them directly from my CPU
  13. *** UPDATE*** Spoke to an associate that I had spoken to months ago that helped in booking our November cruise on the "Brilliance". A wonderful rep named Kim. She remembered me by name!! She apologized for the mis-information I received from the other two reps the prior day. She said all I have to do is present the letter when I purchase the package onboard and that's all I need to do. The other 2 reps told me I had to submit the letter for RCCL approval prior to the cruise!! Kim told me the ONLY way to purchase the single package WAS onboard. Even if I submitted the letter to RCCL prior to the sail date, the hardcopy would STILL have to be presented onboard to purchase the package anyway!! She said that there was no way to purchase the single package on the website with or without the doctors note! It "MUST" be done onboard. So, we'll play along. Even though I do not appreciate the feeling of being "bullied" into taking this route. Chrissy already had a doctors appointment set for the day before the cruise so she'll get a note from the doc for RCCL. I'll let you know how that goes..........
  14. No worries here mon'!!! We'll be with Rose on the Jewel in 2 weeks!!!
  15. I love RCI, but this is one more reason I truly love DCL -- You can bring aboard all the booze you can stuff in your carryon. Maybe because they know you'll need it, with all the extra kids onboard? LOL Gina!!!
  16. Hi Gina. I disagree. If you consider the "bulk purchase" contracts that the cruise lines have with the beverage suppliers for their entire fleet, they are already paying pennies on the dollar for alcoholic beverages then charging the passengers $6 - $8 PLUS per drink for onboard purchases. I realize that the cruiselines are a for-profit business, but a mark-up of 500% for purchases of drinks is obnoxious. Then, not allowing you to bring aboard your own alcohol (except for maybe 2 btls of wine). I am and have been a fan of cruising since 1990 and will continue to cruise. It's just that with what I mentioned above, along with the fact that RCCL needs a doctors note to regulate the use of the package is IMHO ludicrous. Just have me sign a declaration saying I won't abuse the package or it will be cancelled without a refund should be enough.
  17. It just makes no sense to ask a passenger to incur a doctors bill just to appease them! It would make more sense for them to have me sign a declaration stating I wouldn't use my package to buy her drinks. And if they found I did, cancel the package with no refund. I still can't see how a doctors note would prevent anyone from buying drinks for others!! And let's be honest here, with the bulk purchase they have of alcohol for their entire fleet versus what they charge onboard, how will they "lose" money???
  18. As you know, we are scheduled to sail on the Jewel in 2 weeks. I purchased an "Unlimited Soda Package" for Chrissy since she doesn't drink any alcohol. Tonight, after doing some math and seeing it might save me some money, I went online to the RCCL site to purchase one of the unlimited drink (alcohol) packages. The only way the site would allow me to buy it was if I bought it for BOTH of us ($180 for one, $360 for both of us). I called RCCL, TWICE because I couldn't believe the reason they gave me they do that and the only way around it. In order for me to purchase the package for just myself, they want my wife to go to get a doctors note indicating she does not drink alcohol. REALLY???? They say they do this to prevent me from buying her drinks on just my package (which I kind of understand) thus causing them to lose money. I was told the same thing by two different associates. My thinking is this.....Now that she has the unlimited soda package, what prevents her from getting me free soda??? Also, how do they think a note from a doctor is going to prevent me from getting her drinks on my unlimited alcohol package???? I'm sorry, but they have to have a better way to do this!!!
  19. WHOOOOO-HOOOO!!!! I guess Howie was good with it huh? I can't believe you have the cabin right next to us!! This is going to be a GREAT cruise!!!
  20. That is AWESOME Rose!!!!! Nothing better than sailing with someone that's been on a ship I've never been on before. Now I'm REALLY pumped!!!! I'll PM you so we won't inundate this thread.
  21. OMG!!! That would be AWESOME!!! Rose, When was the last time you sailed Jewel?? I have been trying to find out about the onboard WiFi connection but the last post about it was from 2010. The posts I read state the WiFi is poor at best and you have to traverse the ship to find a good WiFi signal Keep me updated. Hope you join us on the Jewel in 2 weeks
  22. For anyone that has ever cruised from PC, you know that the canal in and out is narrow. The turning basin at the end of the canal is also small for a mega vessel to turn to back into a berth. I'm interested to see how their going to pull this off!!
