really i obviously had no idea thanks for setting me straight and helping brendapap with her question..

what the difference between a gown and a fancy dress? Could it be length? I always think of gowns as long, like something Scarlett O'Hara would wear. But what the heck do I know? I know kevin .. i am hoping one of our gown ladies will explain..

oh so you are staying at the hyatt.. the i would definately eat at the hotel..sorry i didnt understand.. no problemo Larry in that case stay with your national brands.. senior frogs.. hooters etc..i would think that they would have some standards that they must keep Actually the funny thing is I did get sick when we were there B4 and it happened after eating at Dennys. Maybe I should bring a case of Ensure. Actually I have heard of some nice places so hopefully we will be fine. As basically we will have two nights to dine I would like to go to some good spots. We'll see. I am sure I can find something. A friend of mine ate at the hotel Pierre Marques for a week while staying there AI so that is an option. Thank you. Larry Can't wit to read your review....

Hi brendapap, and welcome to cruisecrazies.. Most specialty restaurants on board cruise ships..that charge a cover charge or service charge do so to cover staff gratuities.. and yes the food is included.. and no those servers usually do not partake of the regular/standard dining room service tips..no as far as seconds go.. i don't know the answer..sorry... joey

Louisiana Gov. declares emergency as Gustav nears Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal is declaring a state of emergency and activating the National Guard in advance of storm Gustav. The storm could crash ashore on the Gulf Coast sometime over the Labor Day weekend as a perilous Category 3 hurricane, though forecasters caution it's difficult to predict the storm's path this early. Jindal says 3,000 National Guard troops will be activated and deployed a day in advance of the storm's expected landfall. An additional 2,000 troops could be called up to duty. About 300 guard troops are already in New Orleans, working with New Orleans police to patrol neighborhoods still devastated from Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

No recommendation on restaurants.. we tend to not eat in Mexico unless its on the ship.. I will alert you to when you come off the ship as you make your way out of the dock area .....there is a cute little sidewalk bazaar/type straw market/ type thing going on.. some fun things to look at.. prices are Mexico .. so nice place to pick up last minute souvenirs. Larry once again if memory serves me Ships dock across the way from the fort of san diego museum.. I am guessing that since downtown is about 10 minutes away from the Hyatt(by car) you will have a 30 minute walk at best... I would suggest a cab.. But i could be wrong...
