  1. good interesting point... I would think that if spouse is sitting there they would have the right to save a chair for what up to two hours (you could be doing a spa thing or a beauty thing) but I would say two hours saving is acceptable.. what about others chiming in .. ??
  2. I don't know this fr a fact Shaunna but it was my understanding some charges they might impose can be covered by a good travel insurance policy... Oh BTW here at CruiseCrazies there are no "stupid Questions" just questions from posters looking for the correct answers!!
  3. Just membership to CruiseCrazies!!
  4. I seem to recall that at the The Gatun Locks some lines stop for a small window of opportunity.. I may be wrong.. but during the actual transit itself i don't think so
  5. Which Cruise line serves the best cup of Coffee?

  9. Everyone I am sure has heard of "Chair Hogs".. those lovely passengers that put a book or personal article on a pool side chair early in the morning then go off to do only heaven knows what tying up the chair for most of the day..Some cruise lines have instructed crew members to remove those articles after a certain time .. Have you noticed an improvement when you sail .. or are the "hogs" still being slopped?
  10. Hey kim!! Congratulations on the wedding!! Looking forward to meeting you and Eddie too!!
  11. MEYER WERFT shipyard has announced that the float out of Celebrity Cruises, Celebrity Solstice is scheduled for Sunday, August 10th. The float out, which is still subject to weather conditions, means that the largest addition to Celebrity's fleet will leave the covered building where it has been assembled over the past 16 months, for the first time. According to the schedule released by MEYER WERFT, the cruise ship will slowly start leaving the building dock around 7.30 am. By 9.00 am the Celebrity Solstice will be moved in the harbor. During the day, a variety of engine and other mechanical tests will take place while the ship remains in the harbor. By 2.00 pm it is expected that the ship will be berthed alongside the yard's pier. Once the ship is berthed at the pier, the additional fitting out work will be completed. This work includes the mounting of the ship's two funnels, which is schedule for next Monday and a completion of the ship's interiors. The river Ems passage to the sea trials port in Eemshaven (Netherlands) is scheduled to will take place on September 27th. Celebrity Solstice is the first of at least three new-ships of the same class. The second ship will be named Celebrity Equinox. Each of the three ships will be 2,850-guest vessels measuring 1,033 feet in length and 121 feet in width. Following several weeks of inaugural activities, Celebrity Solstice will make its maiden voyage December 14, 2008, on a seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., visiting San Juan, Puerto Rico; Basseterre, St. Kitts; and Philipsburg, St. Maarten. The itinerary will be offered on Sundays through April 5, 2009, with an alternating itinerary calling on San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Tortola, B.V.I.; and Labadee, Haiti, through April 12, 2009.
  12. It depends on the poster.. if it was someone that historically, i have learned to trust their judgment (and this happens through the overall quality of their posts and over time) I may... but for then most part no..most good or bad reviews that i have read take one incident and blow it up larger than it really is..
  13. We will most likerly have some sort of Pre Cruise Dinner....that gives the local Flordia Crazies that can't make the cruise a chance to meet and mingle as well
  14. for us it's the Cabin steward...he/she is the one that sets the tone for us.. their ability to please and make comfortable is one of the most important IOHO on the ship.
  15. I find the Port "Fees" to be some what arbitrary.. i can check on a cruise at one price and taxes and port fees are one price price goes in a different direction either up or down and the fees also change much more dramatically then what would obviously seam normal.... 199 for a 5 nighter? i think that's fair..maybe a little high but fair!! JMHO
  16. I think we did that on the Millie... maybe we will try for shrimp as well....
