Did you book flight and cruise together through the named travel agent for this cruise? I went to AA.com and Delta.com and they aren't taking reservations past May 2009. I'm now interested in seeing what the fares are. Maybe......I can wing something to go :) what we normally do when the air fares aren't listed we go to same time frame but a year early so November 3 2008 then figure a small increase if that..

I understand about the air.. and with this cruise still 490+ days out who knows what kind of specials might fall out of the skies......(I believe most things are possible.... it's just finding the solution to the objection! ..and then again ....maybe one time we can do a group thingy out of Galveston or even New Orleans..

You make a good point... it is tough deciding what if anything is most important...

Let me ask the parents of school age children.... and anyone else that wants to offer an opinion... When discussing cruises on line I tend to see post after post from parents who always state "we can only cruise during school vacations!" That led me to think about when I was a child and on occasion (and they were rare ) The family would be going someplace "educational" like Washington DC..the Grand Canyon.. the Everglades..Mount Rushmore ..Philadelphia..etc someplace that had some significance my parents would go to the school and discuss the negatives and positives of such a trip with our teachers... most of the time if we had good grades the teachers thought it was a great idea and so we would go ...In return I of course had to prepare some sort of report for the class... which leads me to my question.... Would there ever be an itinerary where you would take your children out of school to cruise because of the education factor?

especially when they as others are adding charges .. it sends a message that they are lowering something.... great PR and the cost is nominal (the investment interest on 10%)

When thinking about booking a cruise...What's the most important aspect to consider for you and your family.. I do realize many factors go into making a decision.. I am looking for the NUMBER 1 reason you book the cruise..

Hi phlebo... I am not a cruise consultant or expert.. but I believe you are correct about NCL.. however I do know that Princess does a 14 night round trip from Los Angeles to Hawaii and the do in-fact have a casino... I believe that Celebrity has its run to Hawaii out of San Diego and they too have a casino... One of our more informed members will be stopping by shortly to confirm what I posted or to correct where I made mistakes.. Congratulations on 40 years of marriage... what a great anniversary present!

Depends on the port of call... Most Caribbean ports we wing it... as for our Mediterranean cruise we hired private tours for some of the more interesting ports..
