see I didn't know that ...the only other Celebrity cruise was last year.. we bought it so late we barely had time for document to arrive.. so this was a huge surprise for me almost like mini docs.. (little dance little dance) Iam excited again... :grin:

Can you say Tuscany country side...and Villefranche... the rest are B+'s at best

Avie I agree.. Jackie will have information she is doing the same ports .. however she is sailing Princess and the contracts might differ... but I am sure she will become a great go to contact with loads of questions... and rest assured I will interview her throughly while on the Millie...:grin:

With the announcement of today of the foiled terrorist plot to blow up numerous aircraft filled with passengers .. And the no carry on policy in some circumstances .. How will this change the way you plan to get from point A to point B.. Will you start flying in a day early if you hadn't before?..Will you no longer take valuables like laptops and camera gear because on a moments notice they might need to be checked in the luggage.. and more prone to theft..(I would think most people carry credit worthy information in on their notebook).. What changes if any will these new regulations and policies bring to your future and present travel plans?

Avie and Cheryl and (zebra).. I forgot to tell you during my conversation with celebrity yesterday .. we discussed availible tours for our cruise... and was told SEPTEMBER before they will be ready.... good grief.. We may be coming to you Jackie for information.... :wink:

Mixed feelings there Kareen..... true I am glad i don't have to deal with that mess... but False if I was flying to Europe today that means we are on our way to Barcelona! :grin:

Jackie it is my understanding that Celebrity/ RCCL will now "monitor" sail and sign accounts cards for excessive alcohol purchases... and will retain the right to suspend the ability to purchase alcohol on board for any passenger in the minds of the "powers that be" to be a threat to the safety of themselves and others....... ( ok this is where you slide off the box and I get on ... oh no .. did you hear that creaking.. i need to lose weight :grin: ) I guess the liability factor (insurance company lingo for if you want us to insure you you have to do a better job in monitoring your passenger alcohol intake is really taking its toll on the more sensible travlers... As long as there have been rules there have been those who will insist on trying to break them.. why so few feel it is important to spoil things for many is and has always been beyond comprehention..(at least to me) joey

cool mikie.... my TA friend that helped with the 55 discount thing say RCCL just instituted the same policy just as strict last week so ... I am anxious to hear what you find out...

I hear what you are saying Jackie .. We are not Big drinkers .. I mean if we get a chance to enjoy a glass or two of local wines while on land then thats nice.. however... its not a must have. ( Tuscany tour with you guys now becomes even more special for us.) Part of the fantasy of this particular cruise, ithis itinerary and even the selection of the aft cabin, all played a part of the over all fantasy of enjoying a private selection on my balcony with others of my choosing.. I totally understand the need for RCCL/Celebrity to get a handle on the abuse of alcohol with the most recent occurrences of overindulgence on the seas still fresh in the minds of many. My only objection to the new policy, is in regards to wine only, we of course will abide by the new policy. ..as we can do no other. Celebrity IMHO should re-address the issue and allow a limited bottles to be brought aboard and then delivered with a corkage charge on demand. This would allow Celebrity to control the wine passengers want to bring aboard plus allowing guests to enjoy a favorite that is not on the wine list. We currently have begun looking at the selections available; Any suggestion for a A Chardonnay would be greatly appreciated. We'll just simply pick the best one or two for us and enjoy.... yes it is disappointing but this Trip is about so much more than a bottle or two of wine.. As long as The Celebrity Fleet continues to sail where we want to go AND they provide us with excellent service and some of the best food at sea we will continue to patronize.
