In Santorini the dining room was open seating, and they also had a Greek Buffet Poolside. We opted for the Olympic Restaurant that night. Pre Cruise Get Together in Barcelona<] After an enjoyable few hours there, we hopped back on the bus back to Las Rambla in the hopes of finding a nice little cafe to enjoy a glass of wine. By total chance we found the La Villa Restaurant which is directly on Las Rambla across from the Le Meridien hotel. We sat outside and had a few glasses of very nice red wine. I spoke with the Manager, Luis to see if it would be possible for my group to have dinner there that night which he gratiously arranged. This man was the nicest guy! His english is not great but his warmth and willingness to please was without compare! He only charged us 8 Euro for 2 glasses of wine and 2 bottles of water. We returned later that night with the group of 14 and he gave us all complimentary Tapas before dinner, free sangria ( several pitchers) and presented us with platter after platter of desserts, again all on the house! The food was very good and reasonable at approximately 14 Euro per person for an entree. They have a varied menu and all ordered was excellent. Most had the seafood paella, which was presented tableside and served. We wanted for nothing and were treated like family. updated 7/10 6pm

ok i gotcha.. Now to answer my own question so our budget per port is $150.00. And will be very happy if we dont spend it :grin:

I believe they are a new couple that just happened to join the other roll call... Never the less .. I am glad they found their way to the "friendliest board" on the net... LOL (like how i squeezed in a commercial)

I am with you on not spending a lot... Since you were there before .. can you speak to prices as in lets say olive oil.. linens..local foods and seasonings... How much are these must haves?

Shore Excursions..... How much Money do you expect to spend while in ports of call.. Not so much as on the excursion if organized but in the communities with food and souvenirs and what ever... I am trying to gage whether or not I am even close in my projected budget.. I do realize that depending on port of call will undoubtedly influence that days total... Any thoughts? joey

Tonia I am right with you on the patient thing.... Paula ..sorry Delta did you .. but at least you found out early enough..American did us earlier..( they had us on a flight out of london that leaves.... before we get there ) now I make it a practice to check our flight Itinerary at least once a month.

Interesting Thread..... I was raised by a business man that always had presents to hand out...he called it good will. :wink:

I must say it would be my preference to include it in the fare..my only concern with doing that is the staff tend to relax on the service end thus negating the reason to include tip in fare. We always do the envelope ritual..something to be said for tradition I guess..

Well, we live in a condo so we don't have a back yard ..but there IS<] a mobile station on the corner :grin:
