I thought the tender water shuttle in Venice was way to choppy maybe it was the time of year...Late october/november

Andrea please take your time.... I would love to have a frank and open discussion.. As for us .. cruising is a bit of fantasy.. living out another lifestyle than as we do at home.. and although we don't play the part of the "royal family" we do expect to receive all the amenities we booked for.. ( I am so guilty of I paid for it so I should receive it mentality)..we also expect a clean and fully functional stateroom..and attendant that knows his /her job and lastly but definitely not least to be paid attention to when we are in a public venue. For example....I can remember on one cruise we dressed for dinner and sat in a conversation pit "close" to a bar.. waited 10 minutes while the 3 waiters and bartender palyed... finally got service when i went to the bar and ordered..see for us that is UN-acceptable! What we love is when one server in a lounge picks you out and knows what you drink calls you by name and never needs your sail card.. now that impresses us..

While on a cruise there is a distinct possibilty that you may have to tender to shore (tendering is a process where the ship anchors out at sea and then you go ashore using smaller boats) The ride tends to be choppy and some pax prefer to stay on board rather than take the tender ashore .. What about you? Would tendering into a port of call stop you from going ashore?

If you listen to the individual cruise lines they all seem to offer all those extra special personal touches.. you know "that little bit extra".. to make your vacation seem too good to be true. I believe when it comes down to good/great/outstanding customer or guest service it really comes down to an individual level of acceptance. While some are satisfied just to be on the ship, these people tend not to care about the type of service they receive just happy to be away from home and on a cruise. Others would have you believe they are part of the Royal Family and "how dare you not know your place".. still most are right in the middle those guests that fall somewhere in between.. When it comes to your expectations.. What makes you a happy cruiser?..What do you expect as far as service when you cruise?

Cruise Vacations are known for their consumption of food.. all types of nurishment can be found from pizza and ice cream sundaes to beef wellington and baked alaska and more.. My question is .. When you are on your vacation; how quickly are you to try a new food (that you may or may not have heard of)or food prepared in a different manner than you are used to... or are you one of those who prefer to stay with the tried and true menu items?

Andrea.. I was very pleased to discover on our Mercury cruise that they recently changed from a coffee concentrate to a bean product ... which produces a decent cup of coffee.. so I am very anxious to see what the Crazies think...

heres a follow up .. knowing that the ship had a limited number availible...would you be willing pay an addition fee/surcharge at the time of booking for an in stateroom coffee maker ..

I would also like to see some sort of small wall mountable media center to play mp3 cd dvd

Sounds like they built a better mouse trap...4500 hundred passengers and what did they say 14 different dining options.. it will be an amazing ship to tour.. don't know that i would want to sail it though...
