we went to megans bay in 2006 i think it was... and it was crowded..yes it is beautiful but was way to crowded for us...if you go....may i suggest a little side trip on the way back to town and the ship.... there is an icecream shop at the top of the hill it is a must stop... I don't remember the name of the place but your cab driver will surely(shirley? no our cab driver was thomas) know it.. stop and enjoy a scoop....

OK Gang on our cruise we will have 3 formal nights and 10... count em ten ...Smart Casual and Above Nights..... So FYI here are some examples that include: Smart Casual and Above Ladies: Skirt or pants (no holes, rips or tears) complemented by sweater or blouse. Gentlemen: Pants (no holes, rips or tears) with sports shirt or sweater. Shirts must have sleeves. Note: T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant or specialty restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip flops are not allowed in the evening hours. Additionally, guests are asked to follow the "Smart Casual and Above" dress code in the Celebrity Theater for all evening performances. Formal Ladies: Cocktail dress, gown or dressy pantsuit Gentlemen: Tuxedo, suit or dinner jacket with slacks Before Six Dining options abound aboard Celebrity. For breakfast and lunch, jeans, shorts and casual daywear are allowed in all dining venues After 6:00pm, this attire is allowed only in casual restaurants and cafés. So there you have it.... use it... ignore it ..it's up to you.. but at least now you know!

if you are only going to do one beach day i would suggest considering Millers by the Sea in St John.... excellent! (posted a bit later) after further investigation it turns out that that spot has grown in popularity since our last visit and may no longer be such a wonderful location...

so no one is looking at glory tours in barbados....? what about in st thomas

Joey....I just returned Thursday from 5 nights on the Carnival Ecstasy....you had asked if I found much difference between Princess and Carnival, and right now I think I'd pick Princess. This Carnival cruise was my least favorite of any cruise I've been on. My room was fine, dining mates and waiters were fine, but there were several things that I did not like. 1) the shopping expert made a couple of, what I interpreted, as derogatory statements about people from my state 2) in one of the ports she was standing by a monument and yelled "look at all the tourists off the cruise ship (to me unprofessional) 3) the pursor's staff messed up my account, but did get it straightened out (that turned out to be ok) 4)there was a fire in one of the staterooms on the deck below me, and it was at least 15 or 20 minutes before any alarm went off! The smell is what woke most of us up. No staff member came to our muster station to be "in charge" or keep us updated. The cruise director finally began making overhead announcements. A lady from the pursor's office did come and stand in the back of the room telling people to stay seated. To me, with over 900 staff members, someone could have come to the stage and kept us informed. This is a serious safety issue, as some people were beginning to panic, and we had no idea what to do other than "sit down." I realize this could happen on any ship on any cruise line, but it sort of put a bad taste in my mouth for wanting to cruise with Carnival again anytime real soon. Pat wow it does sound like they could have been more professional.... and as far as the "shopping experts " comments I hope you at least filed a complaint with the pursers office..

even if someone does know the answer before you sail.. please by all means come back and share the pictures and your experience

LOL.... tell him I said hi too.. but when you mention Queen Carmen's name.. the possibilities are endless.. Hope Howie has a Great Birthday.. Bon Voyage!!
