we hadn't determined yet.... but here's my thinking .... it would be best to do it the night BEFORE our embarkation this way we can include the members who would be arriving to Miami the night before the cruise.. thus providing for the largest gathering of crazies possible.. who else has thoughts on this matter?

I believe I understood ...that as contracts ended some cruiselines were not renewing/filliing every open position..I could be wrong.. after all I am a "Joey" but it seems i heard something along those lines..

True but how does that address the cutting of staff?? with a full ship and fewer crew members who suffers?

Hi Debbie... Very Interesting question.. Personally I think it is way too early to really see what effect if any the economic downturn will have on the cruise-industry.. As cruise-lines make internal decisions to adjust the amount of Crew required to give guests "outstanding service" then we will see if the service to money spent ratio suffers.. I believe it will.. now lets wait and see Joey

I know the feeling....we are doing something now we haven't done in 9 years (being overly cautious as I tend to be).... count our pennies...question though... are there still 100 in a dollar? But I do want to see Tahiti!!!

so do I CRISP!! EVERY time .... but i still do it... You are a real glutton for punishment. Two or three cases of sun poisoning taught me my lesson. I do envy those that can lay there in the sun for hours on end though. We hope to make a very brief stop at a few of the beaches along the way but not for any extended period of time. the only time i am in the sun is about 5 minutes an hour to a refresh in the water other than that I am under the umbrella
