  4. Chris I dunno to tell you the truth.... at first glance i thought it kinda cheesy.. but i will wait until i spend some more time looking at it before really drawing conclusions.. 5. In an unprecedented move, Royal Caribbean International has officially seceded from land and declared itself The Nation of Why Not, in the first new integrated advertising campaign for the global cruise line in nearly ten years. Created in partnership with Royal Caribbean's lead agency, JWT NY, and a group of WPP agencies, including Mindshare and RMG, the campaign will be rolled out today in North America and globally in 2009 and includes print and online advertising, television commercials, collateral, as well as a new social networking website - www.nationofwhynot.com. The Nation of Why Not kicks off with two television commercials (30-second and 60-second versions) inviting vacationers to secede from land and become citizens of "the nation." The tongue-in-cheek spots - a combination of live action and animation - begin November 10, during morning show programming on ABC and NBC television networks, and during primetime programming on ABC and CBS. The commercials highlight Royal Caribbean's global destinations and innovative onboard amenities, challenging viewers to do things at sea that they could not do on land, such as "Why not ice skate on the equator and climb mountains at sea?" Additionally, print ads will launch in forty newspapers nationwide on Sunday, November 16, 2008. Breaking with convention, travel and cruise industry professionals will be introduced to The Nation of Why Not on Monday, November 17, with the first edition of "The Why Not Herald," an insert in key travel trade publications across the United States and Canada. Subsequent editions will feature the new brand campaign's print advertisements. "The Nation of Why Not is a place where innovation and imagination rule supreme," stated Adam Goldstein, President and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. "The founding of The Nation of Why Not is not a revolution, but an evolution of Royal Caribbean's legacy of presenting guests with a variety of unexpected possibilities onboard, such as rock-climbing walls, ice-skating rinks, and surf simulators, which have always prompted the idea of 'why not?'" The citizens of The Nation of Why Not - from guests, cruise and shore-side staff to travel agents, architects, designers and builders - bring the concept of "Why Not?" to life by participating in, delivering and conceptualizing the global cruise line's award-winning Gold Anchor service and signature onboard innovations. The new brand campaign not only resonates with Royal Caribbean cruisers, but is a natural fit within the existing company culture, which fosters creativity and dedication to developing the most innovative cruise ships in the world. Nine years ago the "Get Out There" campaign successfully redefined society's perceptions about cruising and propelled Royal Caribbean to become the leader of the active cruise vacation market; today the Why Not? campaign connects the world to The Nation of Why Not's "anything is possible" state-of-mind. "JWT is honored to team-up with Royal Caribbean, always a trailblazer in the industry, to launch this new brand," stated Ty Montague, Chief Creative Officer & Co-President, JWT. "The campaign celebrates the pioneering spirit of the company and shows how that spirit releases the Why Not in all of us. It also reflects the great community of people - crew, cruisers and travel agents - that Royal Caribbean has built up over the years and gives them all a sense of belonging as citizens in the Nation." The cruise line has evolved into a global company over the last decade, expanding its fleet and setting records by introducing many 'firsts' at sea. The line's newest ships, Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas launching in December 2009 and late 2010, respectively, are the embodiment of these ongoing ideals. Royal Caribbean International is a global cruise brand with 20 ships currently in service and two under construction. The line also offers unique cruisetour vacations in Alaska, Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, South America and New Zealand. 9. we arent big drinkers so i doubt we would do that.. but we might ....never say never
  10. We haven't formally set up anything .. but lets start.. have you made a decision what days you will be in Miami pre cruise? I believe I am going to try and take advantage of 3 days pre cruise...I know it will be 2 two days guaranteed.
  11. We tried that in fll at the quarterdeck and the restaurant screwed it up...they made amends but they dropped the ball big time...but we could try again...that is an option..
  12. Time for discussion...What about the other members thoughts comments? ... Deanna? Luaren ? Kim? Crazies?
  13. Rose you make a good point.. I understand completely David and I are the same way I love my "meats" and david really prefers "other" menu choices.. if you don't think we could come up with a menu that could please us all then maybe the catering thingy was a bad idea.. hey after all it's a WIP (work in progress) sure hope jackie gets back soon.. i miss her input!!
  14. Very Nicely done Howard Thanks for the review!!
  15. Joey - it probably wouldn't work for us. On our Panama Canal cruise we have 12 different categories of cabins available to be seen so that will be fun. i bet it is .. a great way to see a ship

One is we can do the traditional thing of making a reservation at a restaurant and we all sit at the same table .. or two which is an idea i had which we try and take advantage of our hotel and cater an event there.... rough ball park estimates shows the cost would be about the same or less per person as a sit down resturant event.. suggestions comments?
  17. MaryLou most of us have the same type cabins... concierge class.. don't we ? so how would that work?
  18. its just the site not the people .. this disagreement has been going on for a few years...and Deanna just so you know ... we don't hate... we just don't support... there is a difference... Ok hate is a bit strong... dislike maybe is a better term... but when you call us from X the DS... that is hurtful really. I don't judge you guys for not posting over there and try to post on both boards to keep everyone informed... rady your last several posts... we from the DS will not be included or offered the opportunity to mingle together... M&G, party, hotel, etc... I am an easy going person and get along with most personalities and type of people... but this is jaw dropping even for me on a few posts... (i.e. hotel for crazies only, no M&G for you, you are a step ABOVE other cruises, etc.) I am truly sorry if I offended you in any way that of course was not or is not my intention. Deanna as far as the hotel bookings go you and your group will have every opportunity to book rooms at our special rates..i have always said that.. and as far as being a "step above other cruisers" But excuse me for putting our group on a pedestal.. In fact I do consider CruiseCrazies site to be a step above!! thats why we are the "friendliest cruise forum on the net".. Now as far as a pre cruise party yes it is a tradition here at cruise crazies that the members get together in the embarkation city for a group meal and party... it just so happens that this group embarks in the same metropolitan area as the owner and founder of CruiseCrazies so we make a special effort to have a gathering so ALL crazies whether or not they are on this cruise can attend and meet and mingle with people they have been posting with over the years... whats wrong with that?? We in no way are trying to stop anyone from joining any of our activities that we have planned and look forward to meeting you and the rest of your group.....that is as long as those activities have nothing to do with being exclusively a member of this particular group package.. some of our amenities are designed especially for "Connie Goes Crazie" group members and thus can't be offered to members outside our group.. Deanna let me be clear... I speak only for Joey and David when it comes to the Connection party... other members of CruiseCrazies will no doubt sign up for an participate in that activity... it's just something that David and I have made a conscious effort to not support... Once again I am sorry if i was sending you a negative message... but we do look forward to not only meeting you but hopefully being able to possibly sharing an excursion or two if the occasion arises.. Joey
