location? brand? Price approximate? ( i tend to be direct...) forgive me.. i am joey..... It is the Hyatt Place in Miami. Too early for an exact price but they are ranging from 125-189 per night depending on time of year for the cruise package. I have a contact in the sales department and his is researching it for me. So depending on the number or rooms (if any of you are interested) I can probably negotiate a better rate. And for those that have a car... parking is included. It is a newly renovated hotel, very nice, with all suite type rooms. It is pretty close to the port. That may very well be our option as well thank you Deanna... can you provide me with a physical street address so i can study location.. as we always have a southern Florida Crazie gathering when we do these things... -

We are considering location MIA or FLL... because some of our members want to drive.. we have been looking at hotels that offer a park and cruise rate that is still in prime location for pre cruise stay at an affordable price. Once our group decides on location then we will go for a group rate.... -

The jobs is going great. I'm very busy, but that's good. I'm not used to learning a new job since I was in my last one almost 20 years, but I like it. It keeps the mind limber. Cindy and I are both anticipating the cruise nicely. We're going with another couple, and are taking a stretch limo to the dock in Brooklyn. The limo will be a first for us. firsts are good ......lasts are bad... Enjoy the pampering Howard and Cindy you guys deserve it!! -
according to my information as far as Cruising goes.. which does not include the shipping industry The Port of Miami is the world's busiest port Wow. You're good! Please forward your opinions to David.....

Florida leads the nation, not only in the number of passengers leaving on their cruises from the state's ports, but also in the number of residents who take cruise vacations, according to a study commissioned for Cruise Lines International Association. The study found that North American cruise industry contributed $6.06 billion in direct spending to Florida’s economy in 2007, up 3.6 percent from the previous year. That spending generated 126,546 jobs and $5.2 billion in income. Last year, nearly 5 million people boarded cruise ships from one of five Florida ports – Miami, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Tampa and Jacksonville. Floridians made up nearly 2.3 million, or 25 percent, of all U.S. resident passengers. Among other key Florida findings: • Florida's tourism-related businesses – such as travel agencies, airlines, hotels, restaurants and those that provide ground transportation – were the main beneficiaries of the cruise industry's $6.06 billion in spending, receiving $2.4 billion. • An additional $835 million was spent with businesses in the following sectors: food processors, chemical manufacturers, advertising agencies, management and technical consulting companies, and manpower agencies. • Florida continues to have the nation’s top three ports for passenger embarkations: Miami, Port Everglades and Port Canaveral. • Port embarkations in 2006: Miami (1,893,000); Port Canaveral (1,298,000); Port Everglades (1,289,000); Tampa (367,000); Jacksonville (130,000). • Florida benefits as the primary home to cruise line headquarters for the top three cruise companies that own three-fourths of the North American industry cruise capacity: Carnival Corp. & PLC, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. and NCL Corp. Overall, these three companies employ more than 14,500 people representing 40 percent of the cruise industry employment in the U.S. Nationally, cruise line and passenger spending generated $38 billion in gross economic output, a 6.4 percent increase over 2006, and generated 354,700 American jobs paying $15.4 billion in wages and salaries. Direct spending by cruise lines, their employees and passengers totaled $18.7 billion

Celebrity Cruises has launched a new shopping program, and as of today, it is open for business 24 hours a day. "Shop Celebrity" is an online portal that allows consumers and travel agents to order a wide variety of items for delivery either onboard or at home. "Shop Celebrity" also includes the launch of Celebrity's new amenity program, "Gifts by Celebrity." "Shop Celebrity" offers a wide range of Celebrity Cruises logo items and apparel, gifts and memorabilia, as well as culinary delights, spirits, wine and soda. Within the portal, consumers and travel agents also have the opportunity to order from partner websites: LeapFrog® School; timetospa®; and Celebrity Vineyards(SM), which includes products by Riedel® Crystal, the world-renowned manufacturer of wine glasses that offers comparative wine workshops on Celebrity's ships. "Based on feedback from our guests and travel agent partners as well as the growing popularity of online shopping in today's marketplace, we wanted to create a virtual experience reflective of the bricks-and-mortar shopping experience that we offer on our ships," said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity's vice president of hotel operations and onboard revenue. "The complete Shop Celebrity program offers something for everyone, anytime, whether they want to surprise a friend or a client with an onboard gift, or whether they want stylish keepsakes for themselves or others." Shop Celebrity includes a comprehensive new amenities program named "Gifts by Celebrity," which is comprised of three categories: -- "Shop Aboard," where consumers or travel agents can purchase items for themselves or gifts for others, that will be delivered onboard during a particular sailing. Travel agents are eligible for a 10% discount when placing "Shop Aboard" orders by phone, and will soon have access to a unique, agents- only website that will offer the same discount. The discount applies exclusively to gifts that the travel agents are buying for their clients who are sailing with Celebrity. -- "Shop Ashore," where consumers or travel agents can purchase items to be delivered to Celebrity guests' homes or offices either before or after a cruise. Items can be delivered throughout the continental United States and to select cities around the globe. -- "Group Gifts by Celebrity," which offers a wide variety of items that consumers, travel agents and meeting planners can order, for delivery to affinity and incentive groups sailing with Celebrity; these items can be delivered before, during or after a cruise. Groups also have the opportunity to add their logo to certain items that include the Celebrity logo. A volume discount is available online. Cruise enthusiasts are encouraged to "Shop Celebrity" by visiting http://www.celebritycruises.com/gifts .
