  1. Sounds like someone got Tifted off (Tifton) .
  2. All the above except for the art.
  3. The cruise we are taking is our first balcony room also. We are on the starboard side toward the back. I'm really looking toward the experience.
  4. Documents arrived today...now it feels like a cruise  .
  5. I've had mine for about 3 years. I got mine for my first cruise in 04. I am a naturalized citizen (British born) and it was a lot easier to have a passport than lug all the necessary papers. If I can do it,,,then so can everyone else.
  6. The passport requirement is spelled out on the cruise line's Web site under "frequently asked questions," with the warning that "guests without the required documentation will be denied boarding and no refund will be issued. "Please understand that Carnival will strictly enforce this requirement to be in compliance with this important U.S. government mandate." As it should be.
  7. Any cruise is better than a week at work.
  8. The world as a whole seems to be dressing down. Formal night should be a minimum suit, Casual nights Dockers and a polo or dress shirt without a tie, as the word implies "casual". Where I come from, with the exception of the opera crowd, dressed up a lot ot times comprises of starched jeans, boots, a western shirt, a western cut jacket and a bolo tie. Joey, I understand where you are coming from with the term "TRAIN" and it is put in the correct text. The problem with the world as a whole is the parents are leaving the training (we still call it potty training and not potty advisement) to baby sitters and not actually raising the kids themselves. I'm sure this answer will draw a pleathera of flaming, but it's all good and simplily MHO.
  9. If ya really wanta know..... Our first real cruise, (not the S.S.United States) I won on an 8 month sales contest. 5 day on the Carnival Ecstasy to Coz and Playa del Carmen. We were hooked.
  10. We have always prepaid standard gratuities. We have, although, extended extras as the service permits. A wheel rolls a lot easier with grease than sand.
  11. I'm in automotive aftermarket parts sales, and DW operates a thrift store for a large bread company.
  12. We "auto tip" if that's what you want to call it. We have thr gratuity added to our bill at the TA. We also "take care of" individuals as they deserve.
  13. Just wondering; a. Vacation b. anniversary c. birthday d. girls only e. just a get away Wife and I won a cruise to begin with and got hooked. We do it as a vacation and this year a 25th anniversary to boot.
  14. I've been on both Carnival (Ectasy) and RCI (Rhapsody)...service was good on each.
  15. Never had before but we did on this latest cruise...more expensive vacation and I wanted it covered.

There is really a short list out of Galveston and my wifey won't fly...I really don't care where we go as long as we go.
